Very true, but she was also a religious nut. I’m glad she did what she did, even though almost no one understood the protest at the time, but she was her own brand of crazy Catholic.

Aye. I remember it being big news worldwide that she tore up a picture of the pope. It was only decades later that I found out it was to protest molestations.

The Catholic Church is a criminal organization, and I mean what I say. Its high-ranking officials should be on trial.

She was ahead of the curve. Every pope is a bastard including the current, Pope “Molesty-up-cover” Francis.

Just being religious isn’t enough to turn me against someone. Mind you I hate modern Christianity with a passion, but mainly because it is so hypocritical and oppressive. If Christians were actually Christ-like, the way they’re supposed to be (and some actually are, like Jimmy Carter) then I’d have no problem with them.

I’m doing some reading on that now. She apparently said she was always a Muslim which… I have no idea how that works.

Yea, she converted to islam and then called all non-muslims disgusting or something along those lines. She then claimed she said that to get kicked off from twitter.

Why you’d go from Catholic to Islam is a mystery but each to their own. She was however far from a shining example of mental stability.

Conservatives canceled O’Connor long before the same Conservatives started crying about being canceled for doing what she was protesting about and got canceled for.

“Ms O’Connor converted to Islam in 2018 and changed her name to Shuhada Sadaqat, though continued to perform under the name Sinead O’Connor.”

That’s utterly bizarre. Thought she was against the church and child abuse.

After her conversion to Islam, O’Connor called those who were not Muslims “disgusting” and criticised Christian and Jewish theologians on Twitter in November 2018. She wrote: “What I’m about to say is something so racist I never thought my soul could ever feel it. But truly I never wanna spend time with white people again (if that’s what non-muslims are called). Not for one moment, for any reason. They are disgusting.”[96][97]

Right! People always reacting without understanding. Sinead knew these things were happening and they absolutely crucified her for speaking out. During his opening monologue the following week, Catholic-raised host Joe Pesci held up the photo, explaining that he had taped it back together, to huge applause. Pesci also said that if it had been his show, “I would have gave [sic] her such a smack”.
