Yes, and it’s been great! I mainly watch my subscriptions now, and the occasional tutorial I have to search for, but I’m glad to not have a bunch of clickbait thrown at me when I first open the app, now I don’t get sidetracked or waste nearly as much time on useless schlock.
Sending mixed signals to programmers
This is a fair point, Valve has earned that 30% cut imo, the amount of stuff they offer to devs is pretty impressive, meanwhile Epic is still playing catch-up. I guess they’re still trying to establish a good user base that they can point to as consistent income outside of Fortnite, and this is an option they’re going for.
Reeks of desperation, Tim’s hate boner for Valve seem to drive a lot of Epic’s policies
I need to find an offline hobby, something that doesn’t involve a screen
Knowing Titanfall 3 died for this is heartbreaking
Bet you could chew the air at that point
This article really doesn’t say any new info.
Welcome to games “journalism”
You enjoy Linux to freely use your machine. I use it to make the cow say funny thing. We are not the same.
Linus Torvalds gets those reports and puts you on the naughty list
THANK YOU for validating my thoughts on their instructions for installing via a USB or CD. I was so confused as to why it was so prominently featured that way, I thought I was losing my mind.
I think that’s usually the type of person who puts themselves out there in the public’s eye to be consumed though
Honestly thought it was clickhole content
Mental Outlaw for Linux/privacy stuff for sure. Dude has some hot takes and has been focusing a bit more on his farm at the moment but he’s got some good topics
Hope Dan is getting reimbursed as well, though if Madison’s claim about time off is to be believed, I don’t have much confidence in that.
A bit of a side tangent, but the way Linus talks to Dan has always kinda rubbed me the wrong way. There’s jokey “Dan wants me to do this but I’m gonna do this instead” banter that’s ok but there are times where Linus just seems to openly disregard Dan and blame him for his own fuckups on the show. Not trying to be a parasocial Andy here but it does make the podcast harder to listen to, imo.
Isn’t Piped in a bit of limbo atm due to Google ip banning proxy servers?
It should be no more taxing than a web page, so I think you’re correct. I have both apps and haven’t done a direct performance comparison, but I will say the PWA seems to be just a tad snappier, imo
Not sure what the use case is here but Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) works great.
