Citi Double Cash 2% for most purchases
Citi Custom Cash for specific 5% categories I can target, though in practice I usually use it for groceries
Discover Cash Back / Chase Freedom Flex for the rotating 5% categories
Personally I don’t travel enough to bother with travel rewards cards but maybe that’s an option for other people.
PS - I’ve found that Discover usually has higher discounted gift cards if you wind up using your cash back towards that, sometimes it works out better than just doing cash back against your balance.
Same here, I always liked Star Trek but kind of figured it was mainly for nostalgia nowadays until Discovery came along & all this new Trek related stuff started appearing.
With Discovery the time jump stuff was a bit of a stretch but I got used to it so it wasn’t a big deal. Plus the individual episodes were done well IMO. My only gripe with the show is that it felt like they took the storyline maybe too seriously at times.
I wouldn’t mind that it kept going a few more seasons but I’m happy that they’re getting one last season & can use that to wrap things up hopefully.

Are you talking about a different community or instance? !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com does not allow direct links to content yet lemmy.world admins blocked it anyway.
Not “new” for me but I’ve been happy with lemmy.zip so far. Otherwise I’d be looking at https://sh.itjust.works or just work my way down the list at https://lemmyverse.net/?order=active
yours got a bad gateway
That’s just lemmy.world servers having their usual issues loading. Though it is kind of amusing, a lemmy.world user going to lemm.ee to view a lemmy.world post, federation is funny that way :P
Even the German specific Lemmy instances like https://feddit.de do not block the piracy discussion communities.
The piracy blocking stuff seems like something lemmy.world admins decided to do based on a troll from another instance demanding it.
True, would have expected something in !lemmyworld@lemmy.world but there’s been nothing announced there.
Not only that, it was a brand new account on a totally different Lemmy instance that demanded lemmy.world admins remove piracy related communities.
Honestly it seems like lemmy.world admins were trolled by some random throwaway account and took the bait.
EDIT: The post in question in case others haven’t seen it https://lemmy.world/post/3175920, a new account from lemm.ee makes their first & only post in lemmy.world demanding that they defederate & remove anything piracy related.
I still use it mainly to keep track of local events e.g. bands I follow that go on tour & play a show near me or local venues announcing new shows. Or local city events, the local government/business districts still post things. And the kind of pointless meme/shitposts though a lot of that happens on Lemmy itself nowadays. Rarely ever post anything myself, maybe once every 1-2 years haha. But I can tell some friends still lurk FB since I’ll still end up with a few likes on there.
Could probably do the same with Insta just never got around to actually creating an account there, though now there’s even less point with Meta owning that too.
I avoid registering at instances that have downvotes disabled. In fact I specifically joined lemmy.zip based on it having downvotes enabled. My question to you is why did you join lemmy.zip knowing that downvotes are enabled? You can see that downvotes are enabled before you make an account here :P
Can’t speak for everyone but for me I rarely actually downvote unless it’s someone doing obvious trolling/baiting. And usually when I see posts in the negative it’s basically a warning not to bother clicking the post.
Since you don’t want to use cryptocurrencies no one else should /s
I’ve donated plenty via crypto so haven’t seen it as an issue, if the receiver is cool with it then why not? Also for me it’s better than anything PayPal related, I’ve been banned on their platform so whenever I see any PayPal/Venmo links I just don’t donate since it’s impossible for me.
And of course if the receiver doesn’t want crypto that’s fine too, but hopefully they are accepting donations via some method I can donate with. The whole point is to be able to accept donations via some method both sender & receiver can work with.
Not dead, just a bit quiet. Maybe just a lot of lurkers at the moment? It’s actually the most active one in the Lemmy/Kbin fediverse.
I’m still new so for now I subbed to all the personal finance communities. From what I found (listed in order of most recent activity):
Not sure if that’s current information, with shrinkflation here in the U.S. tacos have definitely gotten smaller.
