So i don’t know about you, but I know the interest freeze in some cases saved more money than the loan for some of my friends and it doesn’t seem it failed for lack of trying. Congress couldn’t pass it (GOP clearly would’ve had 0 votes for it and the democrats don’t have enough to beat it), so they went the courts route and they seem to still be fighting there to at least control interest rates now.
That being said, I am not directly impacted by it, even if several friends and family are. So my question is what would you like to see done differently? Because to me it seems like they he and his admin spent a lot of political capital and worked really hard to try and make it happen, but it just couldn’t get done. GOP owns SCOTUS. Congress is too evenly split among the parties. So he went the exec branch route which has limitations and ultimately got into a showdown with an incredibly conservative SCOTUS.
Again I really am asking what should be done. I’m not challenging you/arguing with you, I’m just surprised to see this take given to me it seems like they’ve really tried to make it happen. But I could also be dead wrong and they left great options on the floor.
