After having a little read of the issues posted over on codeberg, I noticed a couple being reported that clearly aren’t. This is possibly as many may not be previously familiar with the app.
Default sort type: This is available in preferences/settings/Sort type, where so far the default settings seem to work.
An issue was raised regarding renaming the Home feed, to subscribed, this is something that can be changed by the user. In settings/interface there is an option to Customize Tabs in main page…The number of tabs, tab type, order & the title for each tab can be changed, by the user…
This app has many options & features already carried over from the original…its worth exploring, & remembering that many options don’t take effect until the app has been restarted…
Thanks for sharing your insights. While these issues might seem minor(because they are), these are still important to address for creating an authentic and intuitive Lemmy experience.
The sort options do include some Reddit-specific terms such as ‘Controversial’ and ‘Rising’, which are out of context for a Lemmy user. Similarly, the default name for the subscription feed being ‘Home’ as opposed to ‘Subscribed’ may not be ideal for Lemmy’s platform. Yes, it can be changed, but this should be the default.
These inconsistencies, albeit small, can affect the user experience and are valid issues. I’m currently prioritizing larger features (like having a functional inbox) and fixes, but I also want to value these subtle details. I plan to address them as time allows. Your patience and support are greatly appreciated.
