Hey everyone, I’ve just updated pricing points for around 100 different countries for removing ads.

Please let me know how these look, it’s been quite the challenge getting this right in so many different regions.

I’ll be expanding localised pricing to ultra following feedback from this thread.

Cheers, Lj

Still too much in Australia. Sorry, want to support the work like on Sync for Reddit. But this app doesn’t even have functionality to post yet and is $25 to remove ads. It just doesn’t feel right considering it’s the fediverse and there are no ads at the source.

I know you need to make a living. So you do what you need to.

I believe the point he is making is the app is quite expensive even after adjustments. Compared indie games you are 33% more expensive than Hollow Knight. Only for ad removal.

It’s skewed in a lot of our eyes.

Similar feedback from NZ. $28 NZD to remove ads… I think I paid around $5 for Sync for Reddit premium. I know that was a while ago, but $28 would be the most expensive app purchase I’ve ever made by a long way. In fact it’d be the most expensive software purchase of any kind that I’ve made in years. I’d love to support and this would normally be an easy decision for me, but given that Lemmy itself is still finding its feet I just can’t justify it.

Agree that it’s your livelihood and your price to set 100%, just thought some feedback that this particular localised price is steep might be useful.

$26.25 in Canada. Fuck me I guess. Almost pulled the trigger at $20, now I won’t be.

It’s showing me $28.74 to remove ads in Canada right now (maybe more than the 26.25 mentioned due to tax % difference)

As a Canadian who bought Sync Ultra lifetime at full price before the price drop, I’m not even mad. You deserve every penny.

Either I hallucinated or it glitched but I’m pretty sure it showed up closer to $20CAD before I decided to buy it and it was closer to $30CAD.

I’d double check on the Canadian pricing mine came out to $28.34 on day one.

I can afford that, and was going to be all in anyways, but out of pocket needs to drop below twenty bucks Canadian.

I’m sorry but what? You actually raised the price for us in Denmark?

Old cost was 20 USD, and now you’re marking it at 25 USD.

I’m also feeling a price raise in DK. At least I’d rather pay 20usd than 159dkk.

It doesn’t matter, but just FYI. And I didn’t check the previous price in the app.

Lifetime Sync for reddit pro was 3€, sync for Lemmy is 114€. With that hefty price tag, you might as well just pay for the reddit api calls… This price is borderline insane.

I have a system wide android ad blocker but I always pay for apps to support the developers, but this… nope.

Without any insight into how likely people are to pay for stuff like this in Chile, I’d say the price is a bit low here considering it’s a one time payment. I think you can go closer to 10000 CLP, though again I’m basing this only on how much I’d be willing to pay.

The price for removing ads in this version of sync is like 300% more expensive than it cost to remove them on reddit. I’m in Sweden.

Yeah our prices in Sweden aren’t close to what they need to be. Even if prices for lifetime Ultra were halved I would feel ripped off. Let’s see what the other apps bring before we make a purchase.
