I’d never been bitten by a mosquito before, until the other day when I got ganged up on by a bunch of them. I literally looked down to see them hanging off my legs. It was only 'cos I’d walked to the city rather than the town that I encountered them, but the money I saved by going to the bigger shops was then spent on medication to deal with the irritation of their bites. So, I’m better now that the pain has gone, at least.
I used to use hot water for a reaction to a certain laundry powder when I was a kid. Years later, I happened to mention it to a co-worker, and they said “Oh, why didn’t you use antihistamines?”, which I wish I’d known about much earlier (they certainly helped with the reactions to the mosquito bites)

I hate mosquitoes with a passion. I’m allergic to mosquito bites so it’s so dreadful to even be in their presence.
E: Hot water can help with the itching, but take care not to burn yourself.

Yes, they also help a lot, especially with swelling and inflammation.
I absolutely hate mosquitoes, especially since they spread so many diseases.
