They’ve given the defendants of 1/6 every opportunity to receive minimal sentencing, often going well under what the prosecutors have asked for, foregoing reasonable enhancements, and every other leniency. Some have also walked due to biased judges. This is a popular criticism, it’s not exactly a fringe opinion.
These are primarily upper middle class individuals and their cases are political. We don’t see such leniency and bias employed with working class convictions. They are also defendants on the right - heck, many times the US simply assassinates people on the left before the can become defendants! However for a different comparison, we have seen terrorism charges actually wielded against eco-protestors in the US (unlike with Briggs).
I hope that is sufficient, because this is starting to feel like I’m being sea-lioned.
I think the point is that people perceived your first post as a statement coming from a right wing conspiracy nut. With this post it’s clear that you mean that there is a political bias in favour of the defendant.
Their assumptions are not my fault. If they cannot engage in good faith and politely ask for clarification where there is ambiguity before going on the attack, then they are only hurting their own cause and are not contributing worthwhile discussion. Oh well, not my problem.

That’s a bold claim. People such as…?
this is starting to feel like I’m being sea-lioned.
A bullshit term made up so people can pretend to be victims when other people ask them questions. It’s not “sea-lioning” when you come out of your little bubble for a few minutes and nobody has any idea what the fuck you’re talking about.
Oh boy.
What charade is that?
Mostly the double standards in sentencing.
ROFL! I would LOVE an explanation of this.

That’s not an example of double standards. I’m wanting that part explained.
Oh, well, pardon me! lol

That’s a bit self serving, but also kinda fair.
Got any examples?
Dr King
No idea what sea lions have to do with anything, but…. If you say so.

That’s pretty funny. Thank you for sharing it
Ahh. That’s what this dude thinks I’m doing? How clueless.
Ah, sorry, let me rephrase: I’m calling you a troll.
Oh the irony.
Strong claim for a hexbear to be making. This guy must be a white western lib, right?
