I use a Bluetooth dac or just Bluetooth headphones most of the time. But occasionally, I have issues with battery life or Bluetooth and just want to use a headphone jack (a technology that is simple in part because it has been around for over a century in various iterations), and not having one is incredibly frustrating from a usability standpoint. I’m not projecting my issue with "using outdated shit, " I’m stating that I actually tried to move on, and when I went back (temporarily at first) the increase in usability was frankly notable.

Yeah. I actually went from usb c only phone to one with a headphone jack again, and I’ve decided I’m not even considering devices without a headphone jack. The dongles suck from either a usability perspective or a software one, and they just add another point of failure rather than just using a very simple aux jack. I get why a lot of manufacturers stopped supporting them (it costs some money, and the dongle make them some), but it’s still very, very dumb.

I’ve had arch “break” on me about 4-5 times. Most of the time it is issues regarding Nvidia drivers being updated (usually just chroot and reinstall/reconfigure drivers fixes it), but the others were mostly my fault (I’m often pretty lazy about making sure my system is up to date, and expect some breakage if I update only about every couple of months on a pretty customized system without looking to make sure nothing will cause an issue).

In the US, a parallel would be evangelicals. For reference, a lot of them are republicans because their values somewhat align (anti-abortion for instance is a pretty big evangelist topic, same with banning talk/rights of lgbtq in public spaces) and they are having more of an effect on politics over the last few years. Also, they rather like book burning as well, excepting the Bible.

If in the upper atmosphere yes, but I doubt any of the sulfer from these gets anywhere near that height, and actually just falls back down to pollute down here.

Especially strikes that were desperately needed.

It pretty obviously was, which is why the case was so obviously a slam dunk. Basically, she stood up for the employee who called the police (essentially Starbucks’ policy at the time when people wouldn’t leave the establishment after being asked first), and got fired in turn as Starbucks was trying to clean house on the whole thing and not get called racist. She definitely had a case.

OK, been playing it, would definitely recommend. It’s pretty simple, but it’s fun and if you played it as part of your childhood, it doesn’t disappoint.

Nah, it doesn’t have ads. It’s prime, they already have trouble getting people to watch their stuff.

Tlp and Intel xtu for undervolting (lowers temps and power consumption, but newer cpus don’t support it) are pretty good ideas. If battery life is your perogative, try avoiding discrete gpus, they can be a pain to make sure they don’t drain battery in Linux. 14hrs is possible, but you have to spec properly (think thinkpad t480 with dual batteries, and a low power display).

Im just reading the article, and remembering the whole domestic abuse campaign the dress produced. Think this just really drove the point home for sure.

I think a lot of the issue is that softbank had the idea of if they can invest a bit and get a good amount of growth, how about they invest a ton more from the outset and “guarentee” insane growth. They did that with a few startups and it worked, then they did it with WeWork and it spectacularly backfired. The basic premise of WeWork was pretty sound until the real estate market started going up in price, which kind of blew up the margins that WeWork lived in. That and a frankly financially crazy CEO kind of ruined it.

Or maybe planting a bunch of trees and properly managing them might. We know there is definitely a huge need for them (at the very least as a carbon sink and cooling the surroundings), and that there will be issues keeping them from from having fires in future, but the benefits to planting a billion (even if they very clearly are planting that many as a bit of an attention getter) are numerous and can outweight the risk.

Just learn how to use unity (older c#). Once you start getting into that, you will probably know where to go from there.

Plus when you have a particularly bad day, you can say, this shows I did something today worthwhile. Even if it’s a small thing, sometimes you just need that little thing.

Well, maybe you’ll get lucky, nothing really to lose by it.

That sucks about the greens though, they’re such a good way to provide some variety to your diet. Hopefully there will be plenty closer to the end of the season.

Good luck with the corporate app, the ones that suck really always need help (sometimes it’s a mess, but if they’re paying it wouldn’t be too huge a deal). I always have loved making some good salads from garden greens (I have always enjoyed gardening, so I would get cheap seeds from dollar general or a feed store), generally pretty quick and easy to clean up after. Does your nearby food bank have any greens?

Just started a new job a few weeks ago, feels super nice to be able to get groceries without constantly budgeting on everything. I was in a similarly financially quarantined situation to yourself for about a year (honestly that term might be the best way to put it), so it is a really nice change. This weekend I have been doing some repairs, some grocery shopping, and am hoping to trip tomorrow, provided I have an empty house (still live with my parents until I can earn enough to go lease somewhere).

I think it’s not a case of the software not being perfect, but that they are actively breaking in live environments, where it is amazingly critical that they not break. If that is an issue, then they need to get to such a level of confidence were they don’t need to worry about breaking, which tesla is apparently not at currently.
