It really depends on the ratio of pennies and nickles to quarters and dimes. I helped my father in law sort a jar of coins he had collected from his parking lot at work, I estimated like $150-200 but there were almost 50% quarters and dimes and it turned out to be nearly $1000.

Interestingly, quarters and dimes have about the same value per weight. As in a pound of quarters has the same dollar value as a pound of dimes. You could weigh the jar and get a min max estimate and know it’s somewhere between if it was all quarters or all pennies

The trick I learned was to watch their shadow pass a stationary object, then count how long until you pass it. Way easier than trying to visualize two car lengths

You practically need tech bro money to afford a ticket though don’t you? The article says tickets are up to $2750, and while I know they go for less if you get lucky in the lottery or something like that they’re still like 800-1000$ just to get in. Who can afford that just as the entry fee, let alone what ever you need to survive the desert for a week?

I’m currently 36 miles from the closest, it’s worth a trip at least twice a month for me. You just gotta plan ahead a little more and stock up for less frequent trips. One thing I like doing is getting a travel size version of house hold cleaning stuff like dish or laundry soap to use as the thing to refill from the giant Costco jugs instead of lugging a gallon of soap every time.

Another non Costco tip is don’t use dishwasher or laundry pods, even being cheaper from Costco, they’re super overpriced for the same ingredients as a box of powder that you can get generic from any grocery store.

Why can’t rural police be as corrupt or more, with even less oversight? How does that make city police not corrupt? What is the internal investigation process for rural cops, especially at the county sherrif level?

What is the crease and what do you use it for? I see online that it’s from One drop yo-yo makers, but it just looks like an unthreaded nut to me. What do you do with it?

I worked for a guy who referred to it as “layoff by attrition” who essentially explained that they only have a couple heads over what they predicted based on production volume, and they know the conditions at the plant aren’t nice to be in, 95° F and 50% through most of the summer in a stamping and welding shop. So instead of a tiny layoff or firing people they just wait until the people who won’t put up with the conditions on the floor take care of it themselves.

Pretty sure he spoofed this in one of his books, small gods or the last continent, I think. Was definitely a part where there’s a monk at the top of a pole who hallucinates feasts
