Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late. I use the side door, that way my boss can’t see me. Uh, and after that, I just sorta space out for about an hour. I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I’m working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too. I’d probably, say, in a given week, I probably do about fifteen minutes of real, actual work.
The thing is, it’s not that I’m lazy. It’s just that I just don’t care. It’s a problem of motivation, all right? Now, if I work my ass off and the company ships a few extra units, I don’t see another dime. So where’s the motivation? And here’s another thing,I have eight different bosses right now!
So that means when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That’s my real motivation - is not to be hassled. That and the fear of losing my job, but y’know, it will only make someone work hard enough not to get fired.
Now they are trying to offer me some kind of stock option and equity sharing program? I have a meeting tomorrow where I am probably going to be laid off.
This was going to be my comment. This place looks way too clean for something so full of graffiti.
Unfortunately yes. Instagram is tied to my industry and work, so I don’t think I’ll be able to fully get away from social media.
This episode felt more like a mid season finale than a proper season closure. Overall I did enjoy the show, but it did feel like it was two shows in one. Hopefully next season will get us back on track.
Oh cool, glad to see some modern ones. I don’t think this model stands up from what I can tell.
This was going to my answer as well. While spelling on the internet is pretty bad, English isn’t the primary language of many people on Lemmy.
This is ironically how I discovered I had this. I took off the glasses and took turns looking with one eye closed to see the effect. I randomly did it some time later without the glasses on out of curiosity and noticed there was still a slight color shift. Young me thought it was the 3D colored glasses that damaged my eyes.
Only sends me back 4s. Anything past that is too dangerous for those around.
This is a much longer response than I was expecting! This all sounds good to me. I’m glad to know you’ve already been thinking through all of this. One of my larger worries is seeing communities filled with bots posting ai art and taking over.
(Not that you’ll necessarily have an answer for this one, but a thought that popped up from your list) Speaking of nsfw, I’m curious how nsfw art content will end up on Lemmy. I remember there was eventually a lot of backlash on /r/art since the art ended up becoming mostly painted nude women, though I feel like Lemmy has less need to care about that kind of stuff since they are not worried about sponsors seeing nudity.
I didn’t know this! Thank you!
This seems interesting
In memory of the Apollo app. RIP.
It’s like the world is desperate to recreate AppleTV+’s show Extrapolation, where companies just kept negotiating to raise the world temperature target cap. The red skies many people in the US were seeing were finally a wake up call to some.
Almost to 10. 9yrs 6 months before I left.
Yeah, that’s my bad. I forgot about the last one when I posted. I updated the title to reflect the proper range.
Their goal is not to be a Reddit alternative or to replace the fediverse. Maybe in the long run it will have a larger user base, but for now they want to remain on the smaller size. Which is fine, there is room for multiple websites. It’s a good thing everyone isn’t located in one source. Things can be across lemmy, mastodon, Kbin, tildes, squabbles, etc.
You must be living in the Twilight Zone at this point.
