Mid 40s and USA. I still drive a manual Jeep 4 door and it’s probably my last manual. The new 10 speed transmissions in some vehicles have gotten so smooth that I think I’ll switch to that or electric whenever possible get a new car in the future. I like manual but it feels like they are going the way of the dodo.

I used to work there and the money is amazing when the stock is rising. Since the stock stopped rising at the extreme rate that it was, it’s now just comparable to other tech orgs.

I drive a manual because all through the 90s a manual was a lot more reliable and cheaper to fix than an automatic. I also hated the automatic gear selection. It was always in a gear I didn’t want. I recently had a rental car which was a Ford with a 10-speed automatic and yeah they have come a long way. I’ve only ever owned manuals but I think my next car will be an auto. I hear reliability is good now.

I moved everything over to Rocky from CentOS when RH moved to stream. I don’t run a GUI on my Rocky Linux servers but as a command line distribution it is working really well for me.

The fact that one of them said climate change was fake and we need to drill, frack and burn oil made me realize these folk are happy to burn down the planet. Like damn. Eat half the country is fine with just total destruction.

It would have been better to approve the jets months ago but at least it is approved now. We can all focus on trying to speed up the training and delivery.
