Yup. People have a mental block against it. They decided Mastodon was complicated, so even when confronted with its simplicity, they’re unwilling to deal with the first few minutes of uncomfortable novelty. I’ve talked to a few super-smart people who have this particular mental block and they still talk shit about Mastodon without genuinely trying it out first, while still railing against Twitter. People are irrationally stubborn.

Gooood. I honestly had to stop playing for a bit, everything started breaking once I got past Act 1. I feel like many of the decisions I made, which seemed normal at the time, broke the story’s continuity and interactions. I reached NPCs before I was supposed to, explored side quest locations before I knew there were quests there (fuck you and your parents, Oliver…), fast traveled when I shouldn’t have, etc. etc.
And don’t get me started on Halsin…

Good point. I’d never get approved for a mortgage on my own, so I’ll be stuck paying rent that’s more than any normal mortgage payment. It’s so clearly rigged against me and people like me.
Well I’m pretty mad that I’ll never be able to afford a house, despite having a good solid job. My parents aren’t rich, so they can’t help me. And while I’m not mad at them for not being able to help, I am mad that all other things being equal that puts me at a disadvantage.
Here’s a hypothetical scenario: Let’s say I make $60K a year, am single, with significant student debt. Let’s also say because of the pandemic payment pause, maybe I was able to save, like $5K, and I want to buy a house. Not gonna happen. Now take all the same things but add in well-off parents who could help with a down payment. That hypothetical person gets a house. They have a definite advantage. To me, that’s not just unfair, it perpetuates a system of wealth transfer that only helps part of the population. Everyone should have the same opportunity to own a home, if they want to.
Totally, I was shocked how big a difference the grinder makes. Honestly I think whichever one you choose you’ll get better consistent brews than any blade grinder.
I know this isn’t one of the two you were asking about, but I’ve been using this Shardor conical burr grinder every day for about two months now, and I love it. It was only $60, and perfect for my needs (Chemex pourover). Consistent grind, not too loud, and it looks pretty on my counter. I can’t be sure how long it’ll last, but it feels solid and well-built, and is very easy to clean. I weigh my beans first, then dump them in, so the hopper is kinda useless to me, but I can see how some people might like it.
Fellow’s stuff looks really chic and nice, but I can’t justify their prices.

Yeah I’ve been dealing with this issue since I came over from the other place last year. It’s incredibly annoying, and a number of times has made me rage-delete comments I’m trying to post. It happens to me every day, but I can usually find a server that works for a while by randomly switching a few times.
