When Ronald Reagan proposed trickle-down in 1979, opposing candidate George W. Bush dismissed it as ‘voo-doo’ economics. Later, Bush was happy to push for it when he got the nomination to be Reagan’s Veep
From 1945 until around 1975 it was a real thing. Then the combination of Vietnam War spending, the Oil Crisis, and the economic policies of Ronald reagan destroyed it forever.
The more people know about tech, the more they want to avoid it.
Walter Jon Williams “This Is Not A Game.” 2009 novel where an American stranded in a South Asian revolution uses “reddit” to connect with a way out. Fun novel totally ruined by the reality.
There’s an old joke. A very egotistical student gets assigned some lab work. Because he’s too proud to listen he ends up catching a disease that rots his skin. When he looks in the mirror and sees that his face is melting, he screams! Then he looks again.
“On me, it looks good!”
That’s Trump. If it has his name on it, it’s flattery.
They are just harmless fireworks. They are even useful for signaling ships at sea of dangerous tides.
No, you deserve the benefits of sobriety.
A while back I looked down a long street and didn’t see one red car; in fact all the cars were some ‘no color’ neutral shade that wouldn’t offend the next buyer.
If you’re drinking you’re spending time and money that could be used for better purposes.

Decision fatigue is a real thing. Ask anyone who sat through three tests in one day; even if you have studied the material, it’s hard to focus after a while. It’s easy to fill our day with minutia that distracts us from the impostant issues.
Put in a link because the actual title is a bit off putting
A collection of Native stories. Another good collection is “The Storytelling Stone.”
Prioritize your son. Figure out what’s best for him.

This is an AA book. That said, it’s not the AA Big Book. It’s full of useful techniques for staying sober. Things like carrying something sweet to help you fight the cravings, or that you can pick up the phone and call/text someone when you’re feeling bad.
One of the best things in it, for me, is “One Day At A Time.”
If I’d had to swear off forever I’d have found a million reasons why I was allowed a drink on this ‘special’ day.
Instead, I just don’t drink for the next 24 hours. Anyone can get through a single day.
Good luck.
I go to AA because it’s much more widespread than anything else.

If an actor loses weight or works out to be more muscular, that’s commitment to their craft.
If they lay out in the sun, that’s cheating!

If you don’t own a good sized freezer, buy one. They aren’t very expensive, and it will save you thousands.
I’ve got a 5 liter pot and plenty of pint sized containers. I make a huge pot of chili/stew/soup and freeze it. I’ve got dinners ready in five minutes. You can buy premade crusts and make your own pies and freeze them for later.
Similarly, you can cook a whole chicken on Sunday, and have chicken for the week. Chicken sandwich, or chicken tacos, whatever.
I’m not recommending this brand; just posting to give you an idea of cost.
Sounds like “Anno Dracula” by Kim Newman.
Dracula managed to kill Van Helsing and then married Queen Victoria. AS Prince Consort he’s brought the undead to the Empire. There are vampire trollops who live no better than their ‘warm’ sisters, and great Lords.
Fun book, and first of a series.
Here’s the thing about “infinity.”
There are an infinite number of possibilities between 1 and 2. 1.01, 1.001, 1.0001, etc etc. None of those infinite possibilities is 3.
