It really depends, my friend was having a hard time once so in the evening I drove 3 hours to go see them, had a beer with them, then came home. I think it was absolutely worth it. I’ve also driven that far to buy something that took 15 minutes.

But say, a museum, I’d definitely want to make a day of it if I was driving that far. Maybe more.

A friend asked me out a while back, just like a casual “I like your company, how do you feel about going out together with just us and seeing how it goes”, I said I didn’t feel the same way but enjoyed his company. No more was said and it wasn’t really an issue at all. We remained good friends for a long while after that.

As long as your respectful, just asking is never an issue.

Group chats and at meet ups I guess?

I’ve got a male friend getting married soon. He struggled to invite many of our other male friends as he didn’t know their surnames, addresses, or in some cases phone numbers. These are close long term friends.

He can however tell you a hundred stories about stupid stuff our friend Adam has done while drunk.

I just don’t think male conversation includes details or personal stuff often.

It’s the same with English speaking countries and Rammstein. We say Stein with a normal sss sound but when it’s the name of the band it goes to the German shhh sound.

You and the other guy are talking about two different things. You’re trying to explain supply and demand in a very factual way, the other guy is explaining to you how this is hurting actual people who need somewhere to live.

They haven’t missed the point at all but are talking about the human element here.

Absolutely, we have whatsapp groups now so if I have a question I can fire it over to anyone or everyone if needed, it’s so much easier and I can ignore it until convenient.

There are apparently some industries where there’s less production at home, I work in an industry where this isn’t the case though and it seems to be extrovert admin people pushing it, I think they think we’re all sad and lonely at home?
