Ultimately it may be completely out of context, but based purely on the small sample he appears a bit extreme. It’s the problem with small snippets like this, and why you need to be careful with what you post.

Well it’s not violent from what I can see, but it’s also not funny.

He hasn’t posted in a while though, so I think I’d have to check out what he’s like on twitter to see if he’s turned into some erratic psycho.

This just tells me the guy is actually violent though. If he’s literally getting banned for his stuff then he can say it’s for comedy/meant to be funny, but he’s missing the mark.

Complaining about being censored in this case isn’t really valid as he’s going over the line.

To be fair, replying with I’ll skin you alive is pretty extreme/completely unnecessary.

There’s reasonable discourse and then there’s just “Fuck you dumb idiot” type responses which add nothing to a conversation.

I’d consider his response pretty childish/immature although a less extreme version of it makes sense.

I actually feel the opposite. Have always preferred 2d platforming. 3d has always just looked bad or gimmicky and I never really got used to it.

Yep, it’s hard to hate on Apple in this case when they’re just more prepared and willing to commit.

Sounds like there isn’t anyone able to use the 3nm technology anyhow so not sure how big of a deal it is.

I play a lot of strategy games and absolutely hate the grid. Always feels super basic and limiting to strategy.

Think it’s just a personal taste thing/what you grew up with playing.

Not just my expectations, it has a metacritic score of 87. That’s good, but it’s only in the top 50 games this year.

Again, I don’t really care, I don’t actually plan on playing it. Just saying why it’s completely justifiable that reviewers downgrade the score because it’s not doing anything new/has no story.

Just fyi - but I’d rate games with microtransactions as below this. I just have learnt to enjoy action games with story. Otherwise it’s just another action game. If you play a hundred action games then they start all being the same unless you start doing more. Mech combat is not that exciting or new for me.

My comment is just a reply to the original comment that someone said it was laughable that reviewers complained about the lack of story which I think is just oblivious/attempts to excuse the developer for making a certain type of game. Again, the industry has evolved to expect certain things so when it’s not there it’s a valid complaint and reason why this game doesn’t live up to expectations.

But it’s completely valid for people to just want an action game or movie without a story so if that floats your boat then great.

Well that’s the point right? It’s been 10 years. A lot has changed in games and people expect more. That’s reflected in why the game has reviewed ok, but for a FromSoftware game it’s kinda done pretty poorly. This isn’t going to win any game of the year awards and they’re demonstrating that they can’t just take any game and make it great.

From games have tried to branch out into a different genre and didn’t quite pull it off. If a racing car game dev made an RPG and it was just a game where you raced cars would you also say it doesn’t matter? Makes no sense.

It shows they’re not quite as versatile as their fanboys make them out to be.

Such a remarkably overvalued company. I’d be surprised if it’s still around in a few decades. Feels like they’re the MySpace of today - they’re big and have first mover advantage but have nothing interesting down the line and newer companies will and are supplanting it.

Do you just need an adblock extension on chrome? Should be an easy fix. Or the O&O shutup program may work as well, have used that in the past effectively.

I use Chrome on Windows and have never seen this, or at least, not for years so hard to know where the setting is to disable exactly.

Yep… Moving to Lemmy it’s quite surprising how much of an echo chamber the Linux group has on here.

It’s a good OS, but being honest Windows is likely better for almost everyone as it’s a lot simpler to understand with good support. Don’t have to worry about comparability as much or other things either.

Microsoft Word is just a glorified notepad but it still improves my productivity significantly.

And everyone will have different uses depending on their needs. Chatgpt has done nothing for my productivity/usually adds work as I have to double check all the nonsensical crap it gives me for example and then correct it.
