2 years agoThis corrupt company worked with the corrupt republican governor to really hurt my state. They can get fucked and I have zero interest in giving them any benefit of the doubt nonsense. This was all planned.

So that thing they already do because we have no teeth for existing compaign finance laws? Yes the court fucked us all over with citizens united on this. Just let the oligarchs be transparent with their purchases, we all know it’s how this rotted system works now.
Ohh I’m sorry I didn’t realize that now that covid is over this multi billion company is coming back to fulfill it’s promises. That’s on me, I must have missed that part.
I think it’s fair that programmatic and human readable can be different. If someone is putting in the month word for a logging system they can fuck right off though

22·2 years agoIdk if this points to them being complicit. But beyond that, there is a biiiiiig difference between staying silent and taking actual kickbacks. I do think there’s no way in hell a government body can police itself on this though. And I think congress needs to rein this in. Sadly, I’m sure what we will see, and we are, is the republican body absolutely refusing to help push legislation forward to address this. I do think it’s also healthy to have some skepticism towards anyone in the political theater. But let’s be clear, roberts coming out today and saying that no one gets to tell SCOTUS what ethics to follow is a huggge red flag for what this court has become under justices placed there from underhanded tactics.
Show me where the liberal judges are getting kick backs please. Otherwise that’s all just nonsense speculation to make them look as bad as the actual corrupt republican ones are.

1·2 years agoSo I’ve been riding both for over a decade. And this kind of cracks me up for several reasons. 1. I can in fact travel faster on my road bike then my electric bike. The components add more weight. 2. There is already a law limiting the top speed of the assist system to 20/25 mph. So to think you have these cruising at 40mph is crazy. And for reference, I have hit this speed and it’s terrifying on most bikes. 3. Studies have shown that imposing restrictions like this simple decrease participation which in turn adds to sedimentary behavior which is a lot worse for you in the end. 4. This reminds me of the same nonsense as a representative that tried to create a seat belt law for motorcycles…
