Even with a privately owned car, driving somewhere is often still cheaper than public transport here. Including when factoring in maintenance. The only thing that might offset it when driving alone is parking costs.
Every time my wife and me want to visit a city I look at train tickets as it would be convenient to just get off the station in the city centre, only for me to realise that I’m way better off just driving there, and then use buses/metro to get around the city itself.
I’ve always said that he’ll die while narrating in the recording booth.
Each manufacturer has their bad batches tbh. I’ve got 12 WD 3TB’s that have been running without a single failure for years, but of the six 4TB WD’s that I bought later five have died already. I’ve been replacing those with 8TB ironwolfs, which have so far been behaving well.
I’ve got wireless charging pads/stations/car holder everywhere. Super convenient to just drop your phone down and keep it charged.
My phone’s usb C port got so loose after ~2.5 years that cables would just fall out, so I fully committed to QI charging to preserve whatever is left of that port for things like data transfer.
Linux is where a lot of the actually interesting stuff is, so I highly doubt they don’t have a bag of exploits for that.
As a European, US politics is a good comedy
At least In NL, what you can do for cooling is to have cold water run through your in-floor heating. Brings things down to about 2-3C under ambient, so not perfect by any means, but a lot more pleasant than without it.
Unfortunately it’s considered an optional upgrade that you can only really get when buying a newly built home and most people skip it in favour of things like a fancier kitchen.
I’ve seen a factory being shoehorned into using it. Maintenance planning and all.
Needless to say that its not working out well.
