Oh absolutely. I’d take Biden over the youngest Republican any day. But to act like there’s been no decline at all is just denying the facts of being a human on this planet.

Oh absolutely. I’d take Biden over the youngest Republican any day. But to act like there’s been no decline at all is just denying the facts of being a human on this planet.
I’ve lost all of my grandparents. Most of them I lost at an age where I could comprehend what was going on. Death is the slowest process on earth. The actual passing is quick. It’s emotional and hard but it lasts for the blink of an eye. The decline can take years. To watch somebody age in those final 5-10 of their life is excruciating. It’s a drip feed of watching somebody act in ways where you can tell they’re just not themselves anymore.
Now with all that said I’m not saying Biden is knocking on deaths door, or that the process even started. What’s clear to everybody though is that he’s not the same guy as when he started his presidency. He’s studders a lot more. He’s lost a lot of hair. And he’s clearly slower than he was just three years ago.
Hes doing the most stressful job in the world. A job that accelerates the aging process. He’s already of an advanced age more so than any president in the history of this country. He’s approaching the line of being too old to non functional. So if you’re against him you’re gonna take that to the extreme and cry he’s dying right at this moment. But to everybody else he’s past the “he’s old” stage to “ehhh he’s really fucking old, should he be doing that stage?” That’s a decline.
I main Manon. I might have found my second character.
The Three Body Problem - Humans and aliens engage in a technological arms race for survival. There are times where the humans are a weaker feeble species, but there are also times where humans one up the aliens in ways they couldn’t have forseen. It’s a great back and forth that puts humanity on a path for stellar exploration and survival all in one moment.
I’m about halfway through Death’s End in the Three Body Problem trilogy. The whole series has been fantastic so far. I’m a slow reader and the first book took me only a couple days to get through. The second book fantastic as well. The third book is kind of falling off a cliff for me.
The first two books have excellent main characters that we follow along as the story progresses. The 3rd book’s mc is the weakest of the 3. Where the first two had these grand contributions to society and how to handle the aliens, Cheng is more on the lines of being a puppet. She contributed to society but in this book there are bigger, more important characters that would have been more intersting to follow.
It’s a good book. I am enjoying it. But I’m 300 pages in and still waiting for that moment to take me back up the cliff. The nice thing is I think I stopped at a point where that’s about to happen. So I hope it turns around and elevates itself in the next few readings.
My dad changed his shirt because he got wet and I saw him walking outside with another shirt on without knowing about the first one. I thought he was a clone for half a day until he asked me what’s wrong. That was a good laugh for him.
I figured. I just find it funny how there’s a plethora of people offering to fix your bug, but only one of them(at least the ones I’ve found so far) are licensed practitioners.
Kdenlive is free as in libre.
Davinci Resolve is free as in money. It’s not open source.
Resolve is one of the most powerful video editors around, so it might be overkill if all you’re doing is making cuts and dropping in a bed of music.
Kdenlive is good but more geared towards Linux. I don’t know what the windows version is like.
Damn. I just had a convo with my mother about this group. They were busy in the 70s and 80s. They opened for a lot of groups and said yes to a lot of collabs.
Sad to hear he died. RIP
Did he really have to pull back? I nearly jumped out my skin when he raised his hand.
Yeah, it’s amazing how quickly it came and went. By the time I graduated highschool in 10 it was already falling out of fashion. You could still kinda tell who was apart of it though. The clown makeup went away, but the bangs remained for a while.
Scene kids was a period after goths and before hipsters. It peaked before Myspace was taken over by Facebook. So like 2007-2009. By the time most of them moved on to college, hipsters became a thing and a lot of them grew into that or conformed in some way.
Same. Even as a metalhead adjacent to them, they were still a strange breed of kids. They were harmless though. I couldn’t stand the kids that shit on them for entertainment.
It’s kinda weird and heartwarming to be 30 something and see that style making a comeback. I hope they live as weird a life as we did back then.
That’s way too hard for this country.
The new Deafheaven album is amazing.
Snooze - I Know How You Will Die - Out of left field discovery. They have a really diverse sound scape. It’s mostly metal but does a good job of not following a set genre of metal.
BCNR - Forever Howlong - is a grower, not a shower. At first I didn’t really like Tyler’s songs because she left absolutely no room for anything to breath. But I’ve done a 180 on them as I find her voice so soothing.
