Chromosomes don’t even determine sex. Biological essentialist already moved that goal post after the medical/biological community educated them on the complexity of chromosomes. Now they’re saying sex/gender (they can’t tell the difference) is determined by proportions of gamete cells. They’ll eventually have to settle on some new arbitrary metric once enough people realize not even gamete cell proportions satisfy that position.

Side note, doctors routinely pressure parents to mutilate the genitalia of intersex children (occasionally even without their permission). Their logic is to “assign” an arbitrary sex. Sadly these procedures are most often medically unnecessary and will typically put the child at greater risk for complications and require a life long pharmaceutical dependency.
