For real, mini splits are insanely powerful. They’ll make a room frigidly too cold in nanoseconds if you ask them to.
Your point doesn’t stand. The time it takes to get an equivalent job depends on what industry you’re talking about and what level of position.

I stand with workers everywhere.
I have the opposite experience. YouTube is always pushing dumbass recommendations. I only go to YouTube when someone links to a video I’m interested in, say some neat demonstration of a old analog synthesizer, and there’ll be a couple of slightly interesting suggestions on synths, I’ll click on that and then the recommendations are like “Woah!!! Check out what happens when I stick a synth cable into my butt!!!” And it’s not because I ever watch videos like that, in fact that shit is what makes me close the YouTube window and never go back until some other website links me directly to an actually good video again.
You can use the wayback machine to see how Reddit was at any point in the past. I was there from even before subreddits were a thing, and yeah it was pretty great. The fediverse does have a bit of that feel.
Lines of defenses generally come in layers, with the more strongly prepared ones being further back. So it sounds like the Ukrainians have broken through the first line of defense.
I think their question is if this is gameplay or a cut scene?
Such an idiotic move. If a kid already had a gun in their possession but they weren’t yet sure if they should actually do any killing, having a cop come toward them with a weapon-sniffing dog that will get them in huge trouble will almost definitely cause them to panic and actually start shooting.
I’m on a very old OS version so i don’t know what happened to it, but you can add any shortcut you want to any command you can find in the menu bar, for any app. Go to system preferences and in (iirc) accessibility somewhere in there is a place where you can add your own customized key commands.
It’s not stupid. The country they’re selling oil to is going to be using oil regardless of who sells it to them.* And now Norway has reduced their own fossil fuel usage.
(*Unless enough of the world as a group chooses to not sell oil, which makes oil become too expensive for that other country to buy.)
He couldn’t have looked any more evil and criminal if he tried!
NO! This is terrible science reporting! The study doesn’t say it MAKES you sad, the report said it’s ASSOCIATED with being sad. There was NO causation in this study. It could just as easily be that sadness leads to eating processed food, which seems at least as likely as the other way around. And it could equally as likely be that some 3rd factor is what’s causing both the junk food eating and the sadness.
OP if you care at all about being honest and not spreading misinformation then you should delete your blog post and this lemmy post.

Seems like it adds almost as many confusing things as it takes away. Maybe with some work it might potentially be helpful, but as it stands now I don’t think this’ll help most people understand the fediverse. IMO
It probably depends on where you live, but from a quick web search i see sources saying most energy is used in the summer. ( https://learn.pjm.com/three-priorities/keeping-the-lights-on/how-energy-use-varies.aspx ). In locations that receive less sunlight you would simply need more solar panels to meet your needs. In those rare areas that truly receive very little sunlight for months you would choose other technologies like wind, especially since those dark areas likely correlate with where wind is stronger and steadier.
But my comment was in reply to the person who claimed that solar wont work when it’s cloudy, which is false. Solar works great even when it’s cloudy.
Due to evolution, people will generally prefer to eat more calorically dense foods like meat, fat, and sugar whenever it’s an option. In the west people could afford more meat, fat, and sugar, while people in the USSR could only afford a smaller amount of that, so they had no choice but to consume cheaper food like grain and eggs.
The difference in their diets wasn’t intentional, it was merely the result of westerners having more ability to acquire what they wanted, while soviets were stuck with what they could get.
Additionally, every part of the world has different regional cuisines that are based on what ingredients were historically available and cultural norms. So even if you compare the diets of two societies that are otherwise equal in most ways (like UK vs. US) there will always be significant differences in what they eat.
Nothing about the aims of socialism can be inferred from this report.
You and many people overestimate the effect of clouds on solar power generation. Even on cloudy days solar panels still produce mostly the same amount of power. On the absolutely darkest cloud days, solar panels still put out about 50% the same amount of energy they generate on perfectly clear sunny days. And that’s only for the absolutely darkest cloud days, whereas if it’s just a typical overcast kind of day the output will be a lot higher. So even if society went to being completely solar powered, you’d only need 50% more solar power generation to be completely meeting your needs even on the cloudiest days.
Fyi there are apps and online tools just for removing metadata. Also many sites (but not all) automatically remove metadata from uploaded images. For example imgur does that. But if your way works and is no hassle then keep on keepin on.
Physical exercise. Run, lift weights, whatever. That’s what the adrenaline was designed to make happen, so make it happen and the energy will be exerted appropriately.
