If I’m using lidarr with Windows can this still be done or is this a Linux only thing? I checked out the website for soularr and it looks like it’s Linux or docker only.
Same with MB. Trips are on “pause”. PD funding for conferences in the states is likely next (it happened last time during Trump 1.0 and the bathroom laws)
Couldn’t have said it better myself. I used plex for free for the better part of a decade. Bought lifetime when a raise was coming and it was still $140 (kicking myself because at one point with a sale I was looking at something like $45).
I’ve used plex pass enough, and it’s my main driver for all our entertainment outside of music and audiobooks that if they asked for some more money, I wouldn’t care so much.
The ease of use, the UI, and remote access without having to jump through a bunch of hoops is worth it.
No shade to Jellyfin, but it’s not nearly as dumb dumb friendly.
On this line of thinking, are there any once a day mindfulness prompts? All I can seem to find are journaling apps, etc.
I just want a prompt at 6am to make me think about something positive to start my day
I’m dying right now!
This is hilarious that the communities are so small that we’ve found each other again haha.
Codex has been consistently entertaining the whole way through. Red Rising is similar in that regard. The fight scenes are better in Red Rising and often chapters end on such a note, you just have to read the next one.
I don’t read a ton of SciFi because I find it often over explains the science, etc and it doesn’t move fast enough for me (3 Body Problem for example).
Red Rising is pretty straight forward in this regard. Stuff just works. The books are about the characters and the societies more than anything.
I’ve recently started reading again (last 5 yrs or so) and it’s been almost exclusively fantasy with some SciFi sprinkled in. I’ve read somewhere around 120 books in this time. If I had to pick top 3, while the order would be tough it would be:
The only thing with Red Rising is that it is incomplete right now. However it does seem that Pierce Brown has most of the last book done up already and is committed to completing it. I have a bit of trust issues in this regard because of Patrick Rothfuss, however I feel he will complete it. Right now rumour is it’s supposed to be sometime in 2024.
Opposite the Chicago PD’s feelings, it’s good to see you again Dresden!
Just finished Lightbringer by Pierce Brown. Partway through Codex Alera book 5 by Jim Butcher and its fantastic
Bananas.
Healthy ✔️ Comes in its own container ✔️ Tasty ✔️
I try one every year thinking this will be my year.
Unfortunately the texture kills me
Just finished Lightbringer by Pierce Brown. Red Rising series is a must!
Currently reading Codex Alera 5 and loving every minute of it
Winter: 20°C when home/awake, 17°C when out or asleep. Before kids we used to drop it to 15°C at night. It was glorious
Summer: 22°C when home awake or asleep, 26°C when away for longer period, 24 for short periods
Proton sounds promising
I’ve thought the same haha
I agree. It’s good to mix in some other things. I treated the majority of the Dresden Files as filler novels between other series and it kept it nicely fresh
Oh nice! I used Dresden to break up my big ones. Hard to consider Dresden anything other than massive. I enjoyed the whole Dresden files even though people complain about how it changed from the beginning. He does a good job of keeping things interesting.
I’m halfway through Frugal Wizard and it’s an interesting concept!
I haven’t started Goblin Emperor yet. I came across it one reddit when I was searching for good fantasy stand alones. Sometimes I need a single or double book series to break up these massive series.
Just finished #3 and loved it.
I’m taking a short break to read Frugal Wizard (Sanderson) and the Goblin Emperor but I’ll be doing 4-6 back to back. I’m excited for these and for my new Joe Abercrombie books (first law 4-6)

I believe it’s fall 2024. He tends to release at that time (other than secret projects)
Patrick Rothfuss because he’s never finishing it. Not that he doesn’t deserve it based on merit, but it’s irresponsible to recommend him. Authors take time and most will eventually finish one day but it’s pretty clear he’s not.
Unfortunately they’re by a Canadian author and I haven’t seen them even at my local library even.
It’s “The Power of a Playlist” and the workbook as well
