It depends entirely on the person. Some people are intelligent, self possessed adults by the time they’re 20, other people are immature shitbags well into their old age. Age is a poor metric for evaluating compatibility.

There’s nothing about surgery that’s addictive. You’re addicted to the validation you feel, which is a sign of deeper unresolved issues relating to self-worth. Surgery can never resolve those underlying issues, but surgeons will keep taking money to tweak just a little more. You’re never going to solve a psychological problem with surgery alone; you need to explore the roots of your feelings of inadequacy, identify why you crave this kind of validation, and develop strategies to manage those feelings in less extreme ways.
A cult is a system of worship or veneration organized around a central person, character, symbol, or object. There’s nothing inherently good or bad about it.
Can you give a single example of an ancient historian describing her as sexy? All the sources I’ve seen focus on her skills and realpolitik rather than her beauty.
Jesus fucking Christ, just proofread shit before you post it, so you don’t look like a fucking retarded monkey bashing away at a keyboard.
If someone disagrees with Islam and does not adopt that ideology’s tenets, then that person is by definition not a Muslim. You’re basically trying to have your cake and eat it too, saying that people who ascribe to an ideology don’t actually believe in the ideology they adopted. Unfortunately that’s not how it works in the real world. If they don’t ascribe to the ideology, then they don’t ascribe to the ideology, and that’s fine, but that doesn’t change the nature of the ideology itself. People don’t choose hateful and violent ideologies because they disagree with the ideology’s tenets. If they do disagree, they obviously don’t rush out and adopt the ideology they disagree with. You can’t have it both ways.
Why would you say that?
People make the voluntary choice to adopt ideologies that promote racism, sexism, etc.
If they don’t agree with the ideology’s hateful and violent tenets, they don’t have to adopt the ideology, but it’s disingenuous to suggest that people who do voluntarily choose adopt those ideologies don’t actually believe in them. Nobody chooses to adopt an ideology they disagree with.
You’re not wrong that this post is fake, but it’s important to remember that there’s nothing phobic about criticizing someone’s voluntarily-chosen ideology, especially when that ideology promotes violence, hatred, misogyny, homophobia, racism, sexism, etc. That’s not phobia or bigotry or hatred, it’s just normal criticism
Very bassy bamboo flutes
for most of it is post-colonial history
As I recall, “everyone believed” was really more like “a small number of conspiracy theorists with too much time on their hands and no real evidence believed”
Do it again, but with the magical powers of theism instead of witchcraft.
Why silence instead of literature? Why silence instead of philosophy? Why silence instead of learning new languages? While silence instead of studying an instrument?
No one is going to force you to enjoy your life; you have to take some responsibility for creating your own meaning.
If you have the same sex as your partner, then it’s a same sex relationship. If you have the same gender as your partner, it’s a same gender relationship. Possibly it’s both or neither.
Next recipe: peanut butter and Mint jelly
I guess it’s not like Wikipedia’s accuracy can get any worse…
I honestly don’t know what kind of computer it was. It was something my dad brought home from work when they were going to throw it out, so it was old even when I had it in the early 90s. It ran DOS, had a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive, and a lovely orange monochrome monitor. I used it to write my little stories and play crappy console games. Good times.
Maybe I just have a shitty computer, but I feel like as good as intelliJ is, it’s very slow compared to VScode. And fuck me if I’m trying to do anything in Android Studio.
Meh. It’s their content, why shouldn’t they be able to do what they want with it?
