  • I wonder how people will show off all of the books they haven’t read, what with analogs going out of stye and all.

I don’t know whether this is sarcasm or not, can’t figure it out. But if isn’t, well, I suppose they won’t.

Reading is usually for oneself and not to show off, so I assume, people who purchase such a thing wouldn’t care about showing off.

I like reading normal books but, I currently prefer devices (I.E screens) because it’s easier to carry around, multiple books possible and less preying eyes “what are you reading”.

  • Yeah, I have. Back then I was active in a lot of political and semi-political communities, at first it was pretty decent and people were polite, debates with actual facts and links to trustable sources.

After a while though, people become more hostile, insulting and debated with emotions and zero facts. I just grew tired of it and wasn’t really active in any other community. So I left for 4-6 months.

Then one day got bored, decided to return to Lemmy but unsubscribed from every political community and I straight up blocked anyone who’s being a douche. I now stick a few communities (Piracy, gaming and books).

  • Always love reading your posts!

You seem to emulate a lot on Steam Deck (right?). May I ask how smooth the emulation of Switch games goes?

I have been heavily debating between Switch OLED and the Steam Deck (and then emulate Switch games). But keep hearing different things about how smooth things run.

Steam deck going to cost €700 while Switch €550 (switch + get someone to mod it).

Also; I assumed that BlueSky can see posts from Mastodon but unfortunately can’t find you through BlueSky.

  • If they’re mad about an opinion over the internet, well that’s on them. Nowadays it’s pretty much follow the hype train and pretending to know everything.

They can downvote me to oblivion, that’s fine. It’s internet point which does not mean anything at all and especially here on Lemmy. I can still do everything. So it matters even less.

Majority doesn’t even have a good argument point, if I remember well, there were only one or two people who had. The rest didn’t and went direct into personal matters, which isn’t a good thing for an argument.

I quite much forgot about this thread/ argument until, I saw your comment.

  • Honestly? I don’t know what to believe. She could’ve as what was called “spontaneous agreement” and later on regretted and now saying she doesn’t want it.

Or she did not want it from the start but again how should I know when - I was not there to hear it?

I can say “I believe her” and then I’d be wrong. I can say “I don’t and believe the guy” and be wrong. Doesn’t change a thing. You are making this personal just like the other two.

My point still stands, people here pretend to know everything while we all were not there hearing it all.

So for what’s worth it - I do want to thank you for the respectable discussion. However I don’t like when things become personal in a discussion because that’s when the actual argument and discussion fades away.

I hope though, whatever happens, it will be with full transparency and the right person will be punished.
