I was the same way and then I found American Family. I also only started watching it to have something on in the background which is actually probably the reason why I “adapted” to embarrassment humor.
I looked up from the computer/phone/chores to appreciate funny moments bit by bit, started appreciating the characters in wholesome moments, tune out when cringy things were going on… Eventually I got invested into the story of some of the episodes to the point where I started to tolerate cringe and even laugh at it.
I have ADHD and I’ll often find myself spending hours trying to find a fix, finally read the docs, get distracted, go back to finding a fix without the docs, remember that I was in the middle of reading a docs, and repeat
I 100% agree there are people in management who just like to have a sense of power over people, but there are big corporations losing money over real-estate.
For starters, if you’re a firm who owns a lot of rental office space, you’re losing money on the businesses not renewing their license (which I’m not saying this is a bad thing).
Then, you have the huge corporate business who have a huge amount of office space which they own. A company in my city JUST finished a $250-million expansion onto their HQ right as COVID hit. That same land area is in a central location and was even being highly considered for high density housing before the company bought the land. The parking lot for the new building never gets more than half full. Fuck 'em.
Just let those leases expire when they do
The companies losing money are the huge companies who don’t lease from what I’ve seen.

You live in a society???
I honestly only watch them when I’m super bored or high in bed when I want quick laughs. But honestly, the same question can be asked of people who scroll on Facebook, lemmy, or Reddit hours on end
Oh yeah I was only posting dumb comments for content for lemmy. The issue is definitely because YouTube is pushing them front and center on the home screen of the app.
I’ve never actually searched for shorts either; I only ever watch my shorts via clicking on the “Shorts” link at the bottom of the app.
We didn’t get a “haha, yes” from Max, but instead got the ever illusive “yes, haha”
I’m sorry guys, I actually watch the YouTube Shorts so Google pushing them into more people is my fault. I just don’t care to download Tik Tok and have yet another app. 😭
Meh, number of games with Gold or Platinum Status on ProtonDB seems more significant IMO
I’m sure others will disagree but I’m fine with this, especially since it sounds like you’re being fair, not greedy, and have a reasonable exit strategy.
You aren’t hoarding wealth, buying up all the starter homes, making them into unsightly mcmanasions, and then putting them up for rent like a bunch of houses in my neighborhood. Like 7 houses on my block are owned by 2 people.
I can’t see anywhere which would explain why the school closed. It’s possible that it doesn’t have central air. It could also be an efficiency thing; maybe the AC can’t vent out the heat fast enough to cool down the building when it’s that warm? My house is actually like that when it hits around 105° outside.
The smart ass reply is they close down when it’s hot for the same reason Texas closes down when it’s only 30° and it barely snows 😅
Bruh, being in a different small town in Kansas, this is the talk of the town 💀. “What the fuck are the people thinking up there? How much worse can it get!?” 💀💀💀
