The quality is whatever you print. The printer’s quality is stellar.

I always say that if you want to print stuff, buy Prusa. If you want to tinker with the printer, buy something else.

Prusa is the Mercedes of 3d - premium price for a premium experience. At 100$ for a Mini, I would not hesitate even if I already have one.

Notepad++ has a plugin that makes it the default even for things that would normally be go to Notepad.

You’re right in that case - most “granny” users just need a browser and maybe a printer. Don’t need Windows, you could probably run that on a Raspberry.

The catch is when they want more, like their VoIP App that only hat Mac and Windows installers, or some arcane HP scanner with 32 bit Windows 7 drivers. Or they are competent and want an actual full MS Office suite including Excel formulas and functions; Calc is still not on par. Or, kicker, if they actually need to exchange Office files with others without lossy conversions.

Full encryption means privacy. From everyone. For everyone. Please explain to me why that should not be given to minors?

Yeah, that’s not that easy, unfortunately, because each end of the network cable passes through an insulated wall, through a hole equal to the cable width = smaller than the plug. Even if I find the break, it is likely in the outdoors part of the cable where I would want an unbroken cable without a field repair.

Then what are they doing? It seems very cumbersome to have to take a drive offline for routine maintenance.

I installed npm (Nginx Proxy Manager) without problems before I heard about Caddy.

Npm works well and requires zero maintenance, and it’s easy to manually add redirects via the web ui when I start new Docker containers.

“If it works, don’t fix it.” But if I didn’t have npm today I would try Caddy.
