I just use the web page on my phone, imo it’s better than most apps but maybe that’s just bcs I was using Lemmy before the whole reddit thing and before people started making apps for lemmy

As politely as I can put it, as a trans woman I wouldn’t feel comfortable being in a relationship with anybody who I knew thought like that about other trans people - there’s a reason 8 separate people reported it

I believe that hexbear specifically decided not to federate with kbin in the initial discussion of federation due to concerns over poor moderation and bigotry so you shouldn’t be able to see comments by hexbear users anyway

A blahaj user posted a link to this screenshot of you publicly defending a cishet man talking about how they would like to have sex with a trans man and explicitly saying their fetishisation would be exactly negating what the trans man wanted to do with his body

They provided additional context but since the comment was on a hexbear thread and hexbear is currently down I can’t link to it unfortunately

In retrospect I think to a degree you’re right, I mainly posted this to be about my own experience of cracking and didn’t consider how cis or enby femboys might feel about it. (But also regarding the Astolfo thing I was actually under the impression that he was a trans girl like Ferris, but I’ve never watched the anime so idk)

Since hexbear is down I can’t delete this since I posted it on my main but I have sent the following report to the mods:

That was me, I was referring to myself and how I personally came to realise I was trans through being a femboy, if it came off as offensive I’m sorry and I’ll remove the post

Though imo saying that it’s not just one but multiple of the mods being ableist isn’t the best of defenses

Lmao I remember when this was first posted on the 196 subreddit back when there were still massive struggle sessions about vaush there

There weren’t any complaints until the mod of the second largest comm on this instance started throwing around slurs and leaking dms - also hexbear admins were unaware of previous chaser things the mod had publicly defended on 196 until a blahaj user brought it up in a thread about a blahaj user claiming enbys on hexbear were faking being non binary for clout (the enbyphobic comment was pretty swiftly deleted by the mods here after it was brought to their attention thankfully)

They posted a comment that included the word libt*rd and then [one of the other mods apparently] deleted an anarchist hexbear users comment calling this out, then they [(affirmentioned other mod)] called him “braindead” in one of the removal reasons for him pushing back on being accused of being a tankie iirc. After getting more push back on the initial comment moss edited the slur out.

It’s a shame to see the two instances split especially since I was pushing for the two instances to not defed pretty hard on the hexbear side, but the mod of one of the largest Comms being openly ableist, doubling down by deleting accusations of ableism then being ableist again in the removal reason and also defending chasers is pretty damning imo

It’s a term used by trans people for cis men who overly fetishise trans women, often with mysoginistic undertones

Hexbear users are literally not capable of throwing slurs at people since the fork hexbear runs on has a slur filter hard coded into it

I’m from hexbear and ngl i’m like, idk, pretty embarassed by how a lot of the other hexbear users were acting in regards to the news of the defed question, i decided to like make an account here too in case of defederation so i can still post in your queer communities too - though i’ve decided to like not upvote any posts in this thread or cast a vote in the poll next week since i have an obvious bias towards remaining federated with hexbear and think it would be unfair to like, interfer with the blahaj community’s decision
