I remember when I voted for him, it was a, “I’m not voting for Biden, I’m voting to make politics boring again.” I’m not sure I can take another 4 years of this.

I’m a sound engineer, I have to go to concerts, it’s kind of my job.
In theory, however the ability to break up the year into smaller chunks is very handy for our monkey brains. Small number easy, big number hard.
I would love to be on the international fixed calendar, but the rest of the world would look at me weird.

This is timely. I’m actually going to the met next week. I’ll have to keep an eye out.
Only for very specific games, and only because I don’t have a high refresh rate monitor.
If I’m in Forza driving 200 km/h I shouldn’t be able to see the bricks I’m flying past. With my low refresh rate monitor I can, so adding just a hint of motion blur really helps add that flourish of immersion that I can’t get with my setup. But that’s again very specific games and only because I cap out at 60fps.
I survived a hurricane and got my lawn mowed in the process…
The only thing I use acrobat for is for converting pdf’s to other formats. Why reader can’t do that I don’t know.
This is skewed as I do video editing, but I have a casual 112TB external raid array in addition to the 56TB in my machine. That’s not including the NAS, backups, or the other machines. Between all of my machines plus on and off sight backups, I’m probably just shy of a PB.
General rule of thumb have 3 months worth of expenses in savings. That’s if both you and your partner lost your jobs tomorrow, are you good for 3 months? If so congratulations you’ve got more financial buffer than 80% of the population. You’re free to do whatever you want to do, regardless of what you’re spending it on. It is considered “excess” income.

It’s not a front anymore because it doesn’t exist, but my massage therapist had a baby and was going to be out for a while. So I went looking around town for a hold over until she got back, and found a “spa” that was across from the entrance to the local Navy base that advertised “Pretty Asian massage therapists” and had a picture of a young lady in a bikini on the front page of their website. It didn’t help matters that all of the reviews were from men.
Now I’m not going to speculate on what was going on, as far as I know it could have been a regular spa that happened to have attractive women working there. I wouldn’t know, that’s not something I want to mess with.
Our warehouse has electronics in it, so it’s one of the warehouses that’s climate controlled. So during summer it’s 75 F in there, around 23ish C.
For a non climate controlled warehouse during the summer, the floor would be around 10 F 6ish C cooler than ambient plus shade, however the ceiling would be around 15 F 8ish C hotter than ambient.
Yea we just placed an order for the new Yamaha consoles, everything on our is transitioning to Dante and with the release of DanteAV we could easily see all of our audio and Video networks streamlined and simplified.
I live in the south. Interestingly a lot of our warehouses are either air conditioned, or use traditional air cooling techniques like high ceilings, cross ventilation and white roofs.
By the way you can get air seals for semi truck loading docks so even if the door is open and you’re loading a truck, it’s air conditioned, it’s nice.

One time when my roommate was being a bit on the lazy / selfish side, I told him that he suffered from protagonist syndrome.
Dolby standardized to 2/3 in 2005 and everyone copied them.
My employer pays for mine, so free.
Before that was $20/month for unlimited everything with tethering in the US.
