Censorship gains traction under the guise of reasonable sounding proposals and always leads to misuse. I have no doubt you have good intentions at heart, but I super promise other people don’t and they will use any legislation available as a way to curtail dissent, treason, and sedition.

Honestly at this point I want to host a distributed Lemmy instance and completely ignore all country laws in favor of complete and absolute freedom of speech.

It’s because they’re all juvenile though. They actually don’t produce a hormone needed for proper growth and that’s why they look the way they do. They are supposed to go through another stage of growth, and their appearance and existence is because of a genetic birth defect.

I am kinda glad, and it reminds me of early Digg. When I first used Digg, it didn’t tailor the order or content of anything to you, it didn’t use an algorithm to keep throwing content at you, changing the order of what you see, and Lemmy reminds me of this.

I’m not here up be addicted or scroll endlessly, if anything, Lemmy feels healthier, like I can walk away and do something else.

I’m here and I’ve sworn off Reddit. Sometimes I end up there via Google search though. It’s amassed a huge amount of knowledge and it’s…unfortunate that so many Google searches yield Reddit results, and those results are occasionally unique.

I only intentionally use Lemmy, and I definitely am giving up a lot for principal. I find it disheartening that the weekly observation threads are old and outdated that are pinned here, and I want weekly threads for current observations.

I want this community more active but also more maintained.
