I don’t think the ancient Greeks used Roman numerals. Though to be fair, I-III should be easy to understand anyway.

I get that. It shouldn’t be necessary to do research just to be sure it’s safe. I apologise for my aggressive tone. It must be really scary and exhausting to live somewhere like that. My country is still holding up but seems to be sliding slowly in that direction too.
So do whatever makes you stay safe and feel safe.
I’m sorry if I misgendered you. I was already exhausted from the other comments that clearly state that they are men and probably was biased in that regard. But my point still stands that there is no reason to completely forego tracking apps.
Drip, the app mentioned several times in this thread, let’s you encrypt the locally stored database with a password you have to enter every time you open the app. How is that not safer than a random piece of paper?
It’s so exhausting that this thread is full of men telling women what they should and shouldn’t do while having very little knowledge about the topic.
Do people need an app for taking notes? Or a calendar?
Sure, I used to do it on paper for many years. But it’s much more convenient to track it on my phone, which I have almost always with me. That way I can check whether I’m likely to be bleeding heavily before making plans with my friends to go swimming that day or on a long hike without access to a toilet.
Also many women don’t just track the blood flow but also other data like temperature, cervix and cervical mucus. This helps calculate the most fertile days. It’s much easier to let an app do that.
You can turn this around as well. Their mom asking them to stop having contact with their father is her choosing to take away their father from them. If that’s what she wants to do…
Children should not be pulled into the relationship problems of their parents. The parents are the ones who chose to have a child together, they are the ones who have to deal with the consequences of that.
I think many use apps that don’t show avatars. I usually browse lemmy with Eternity and sometimes forget they even exist.
I’m in no way qualified to judge whether this classifies as being an alcoholic. But I think you certainly have an unhealthy relationship to alcohol or at least beer. It’s not really “normal” (sorry, I don’t know how to phrase it better) to think so much about a beverage.
The same goes for food, actually. And at least there it doesn’t automatically equal excessive consumption, sometimes it’s the opposite, either anorexia or even focusing on a healthy diet. The point is that the healthy default state is to not obsess about it too much.
Out of curiosity, have you tried alcohol-free beer? There are really good ones out there and maybe trying some could help you determine whether it’s actually the alcohol or more the “beer equals good time” aspect that drives you.
Can’t misrepresent women if you don’t represent them. Taps forehead.
The scary part is, that for them “everyone” is having fun. Because women are usually not included in their everyone.
If you want to start a new line, you can either type three spaces at the end of the line or a backslash. I think it should work on all clients, but I’m not sure.

This is gold. The person he finds eventually is Danny Pudi as Abed Nadir from Community doing his Nicholas Cage impression.
I don’t even wish my mother a happy mother’s day, because whenever mother’s day is brought up she rants about how it was made big by florists and the Nazis (this is actually true for Germany). She is a great mother though and she knows I think so.
I’ve heard of several “Pflanzentauschtage” (“plant trade days”) here in Germany as well.
He worked 500000 times as hard as other people! It’s well deserved! If you worked 168 hours a week instead of 40, and 120000 times as hard, you could easily make that, too.
It’s very good, but it would have been even better if they didn’t do the “you’re on your own now” thing with the bike lane.
I’d also like to point out that with an app, you don’t just hire a programmer, they make an app and done. You have to maintain it. (Although many companies with “smart” products with apps skip this part, so I’m sure it’s fine /s)
Serious question: Do people share their lemmy account with others irl?
Not even my closest friends and family know my username let alone random strangers. And I intend to keep it that way.
I really made a fool of myself, haven’t I?
Well, for what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbours, and laugh at them in our turn?
