I guess that myth is pretty easy to explain.

Thanks for reiterating what I said I guess…
Electrical engineer here, can confirm I look at this all day.
frothy floating child turd
what a colorful way to describe a child, they sure don’t understand personal space though.
if you sniff a jug of chlorine, sure you’ll smell it but diluted in a pool to 3-5ppm you shouldn’t be able to smell it unless it’s reacting with contaminants, not necessarily urine, but not not necessarily urine. If it has a strong odor from far away either the pool has way more than say 10 ppm chlorine or is reacting with stuff or both. The good news is the chlorine is doing its job and you’re probably fine. probably.
I find it a bit ironic that the thing that made it easier to ditch windows completely was o365 web apps, they’re actually decent if you have to use them. Thanks microsoft.
I think the just use linux voices are getting louder because every day more things just work out of the box, it may not quite be there for everyone yet but it’s getting better every day.
yeah, it’s frustrating when they’re smug about it but I’d argue that suggesting an alternative where this issue doesn’t happen is helpful advice even if you don’t agree with it. I do agree that ‘just switch to linux’ is a gross oversimplification as there will be some growing pains and there are a few hurdles that may at present be unsurmountable. I also find it amusing that you present digging up registry hacks and fighting for control over your system for the rest of time to be easier than a modern linux installer that takes about 5 minutes to click through the gui with no command line knowledge needed. I guess the point is that you should use whatever you’re comfortable with, but if you haven’t tried linux in a while you might find it to be less of a fight than windows is becoming.
Yep, I think you can donate plasma more often as well. Oneblood will give you giftcards and swag for whole blood, not nearly as good a payout as plasma but it’s also like 15 minutes where my experience with plasma was a couple hours, they did set me up with netflix during the process so I think it’s worth the extra bit of time.
PFAS is everywhere at this point. Unfortunately they’re reeeeeally good at what they’re designed for and they’re cheap. We’ll need viable alternatives so they can be phased out. I think they should be banned from products that don’t really need them like dental floss and hopefully we come up with an enzyme or something that can cheaply break it down in the environment.
Side note, there has been at least one study that shows that donating blood regularly can reduce the amount of PFAS in your blood. This doesn’t solve the problem of the stuff being everywhere but it’s good to know you can remove it from your body over time.

Yeah, it’s incredibly frustrating when propaganda uses partially true information to push their agenda. From a first aid perspective, letting the wound bleed a bit and get oxygen exposure can reduce the initial infection. You should absolutely get the vaccine though because why fucking risk it?
In my head I thought of it like a psuedo su and thought sudo was clever, then learning it is like soodoo and I’m highly disappointed. I still say it like psuedo in my head. I use arch btw.
You can get paid way more for plasma, the places where I live take hours though so it may not be worth it. I just donate whole blood and Oneblood gives me gift cards and swag, the double walled water bottles last time were surprisingly good quality, and probably lined with pfas.
Many places will give you gift cards, donating plasma also has the effect of reducing pfas in your blood (allegedly) and you get real money.
Not to downplay that this is terrible but you should know there have been studdies that show you can reduce the amount of forever chemicals in your blood by donating blood regularly, among other health benefits like getting paid for it.
Yeah, i remember it being pretty bad and fighting with my boss at the time because they were all in with lenovo. Even after I showed them the articles about the malware they wanted us to push out lenovo’s bloat on all machines (like the stupid battery monitor) because they liked how it looked better. I got a new job shortly after.
This is not how I pictured the verification can…
I sure want them to try though, fight for my money!
Back in 2015 or so Lenovo was pre-installing superfish spyware on some systems. Whether this was an accident or intentional is up for interpretation. Whether 8 years is enough to earn back trust is up to you. Personally I re-image anything that’s mine because I don’t need the vendor’s bloat that just does the same things windows already does. I don’t really use windows much anyway these days for my personal machines but I’m probably not going to buy anything from Lenovo any time soon.
those people suck. some people enjoy the pain i guess but shitting on others is dumb. Arch is pretty great but the fan base is insufferable. I use arch btw.
