  • Again, if you “have an opinion about transgender people” that involves taking away their rights, or putting them in harms way and that prioritises the needs of everyone else first, and the needs of trans people last, if at all, then you have a bigoted opinion. It’s a universal statement.

The person you were replying to described Nutomics position as “It’s hard for me to imagine a more agreeable and reasonable statement.” And as a reminder, Nutomics post was a statement complaining about pride flags on public buildings, calling transgender women “men” and stating that trans folk are a conspiracy/distraction pushed by the bourgeoisie, despite rich conservatives being largely responsible for the wave of trans hatred we’re currently experiencing.

    That is pure transphobia.

  • Honestly, it depends on the doctor. My original doctor had been doing trans healthcare for decades, and she had it down to an art. She’d put them implant in my abdomen, I’d get a single stitch, and had to avoid strenuous activity for a couple of days, but it was otherwise it was minimal impact.

I asked her to put one in my butt cheek once. She’d never done that before, and it showed. It was a more troubled implant, and took me longer to recover from, and made sitting uncomfortable for a few days.

And my current GP who doesn’t have quite the same experience as the first, tends to leave a bruise when he does the implant, but it otherwise heals the same as always. A single stitch, and a couple of days without strenuous activity.

As an instance admin, if I regularly see reports for a local community that break community rules but not instance rules that sit without action for 24 hours or more, that’s when I’ll get involved with the community to try and get more active mods.

If the reports are for posts that break instance rules, I’ll action them whether or not there are local mods active.
