RATM are the biggest fraud ever. Paid by SONY they have been commercializing “revolution” in the most disgusting, primitive and obvious ways. I remember the “made without computers, samplers[…]” note on their first record. Using technophobia and reactionary lies (the record was actually produce with excessive use of digital effects, the artwork mostly plagiarized and digitally layouted etc) to simulate rebellion and under contract by SONY from the first day on, I found them instantly repelling while everone else was euphoric about these wankers. Saw them playing live many years ago with Living Colour, Claws Boys Claws, Lenny Kravitz and many others. They weren’t doing too well in direct comparison with a couple of authentic bands. It felt like if someone had switched from a serious concert to the “Muppet Show”:

The whole vanity publishing industry works like that. Yes, there is such an industry. There’s a highly accurate, slightly satiric and utterly confusing book about it, named “Il pendolo de Foucault” by Umberto Eco. (Probably something like “Foucault’s Pendulum” in English). Yes. Deleting partitions without editing /etc/fstab is a nice way to render your system unbootable.

Did you delete it or comment it out in /etc/fstab? Adding

noresume

to your boot arguments should also help. You can try that out in “extended options” during boot and add it to /boot/grub/grub.cfg later. Don’t forget to run

update-grub

after editing.

Temperature is just as tricky. Let the pasta and the rest of the water cool down about a minute. Some obviously bored physicists have experimentally found the “perfect” way (egg not denaturalizing, sauce homogenous) a couple of months ago and published a paper about it. The search engine of your choice might find it.

I don’t see how this contradicts my statement. You can’t make a general comparison between specimina of anything if one of your samples is broken.

The trick is to keep the right¹ volume of noodle-water before mixing pasta and sauce in the noodle pot. The starch in the water gives the sauce the right consistence.

Faraday cages don’t protect against specific malware. They block electromagnetic radiation or communication in general. The idea is to keep your phone inside as long as you are in a potentionally compromised net.

How would you fuck up your machine by installing packages? Hell, get a reasonable package manager and package installation frontend (and a reasonable brain between your ears if that’s the problem). I can’t see how anyone might get their machines into an useless or unbootable state considering that any useful package manager (even minimalist ones like aptitude or blank apt-get) will inform you what it’s going to install and unistall. If I see, that my choice is going to remove the complete DIE I am using plus X, or even GRUB, I lknow there’s something wrong with my selection and abort.

If you can’t play, let your gear speak for you. Don’t replicate the boring pissing contests of r/guitar or r/synthesizer where 90% of the posts were “collectors” showing off gear they can’t play. Consumerism and enthusiasm are different things.
