Can’t wait for the static fire!

Can’t wait for the static fire!
I will say that it gives me hope that so many people are pushing back in threads like this. I’ve been trying a lot of platforms in recent months, and places like Tildes, HackerNews, and even Beehaw seem to be better able to have constructive conversations about heated topics. So we’re not alone!
Seriously, this comment section makes me want to leave Lemmy forever. Why would I build a community with these people?
I can relate to this so I’ll just add that aligning my diet with my values was the best decision I’ve ever made. Being able to eat without feeling guilty/confused/complicated was life-changing. I didn’t do it all at once, or torture myself.
And we live at this amazing time when you can be lazy AND get amazing not-morally-horrible food! Typing this as I munch on an entire package of addictive store bought animal-free chocolate chip cookies :P
My gut says that if raptor reliability was as poor as the static fire makes it seem then we would be seeing more signs of panic. But now I’m unsure whether any of that would be visible to us. It sure seems like they’re feeling good about things, and this theory matches that.
This nurse: horrible
Commenters proposing various forms of vigilante justice and torture: horrible
This isn’t Reddit! We don’t have to be assholes here!
Huh, weird. I just checked a bunch of apps/accounts as well, and it seems to be a lemmy.world problem. If I access this community via other instances I see what you see, but lemmy.world pins the 46B Starship thread and (bafflingly!) the August general discussion thread.
I’ll see if this sort of bug has been reported anywhere, but let’s assume it’s not your problem. Thanks for looking into it :)
Some may have! But I’d need to do research on this particular vote to make that sort of claim confidently. I suspect it was complicated, because things like this are complicated! Just like names ;)
I get that this makes it a little bit different, but practically I’m not sure it matters. People don’t care about name origins, and our relationships with names have changed since 1800. Whether or not “White Settlement” is offensive is a different question that I’m unsure about.
Hey @[email protected], just wondering if it’s deliberate that the old thread is pinned instead of this one? Might just be the app I’m using, but it’s starting to get hard to find this thread.
Also, the bot is working really well!
This article is worth the read. Starliner was in an extremely precarious situation that we didn’t previously know about.
