@rezz It’s been just as we expected: grueling.
@rezz It’s been just as we expected: grueling.
@rezz I hear rumors from Dyckman.
@rezz Not so surprising Miami start. But I have a feeling they can’t keep it up.
@Wanpieserino @mesamunefire I’m writing this from Mastodon, and now you’re seeing it.
@clever_sardonic_name Thank you, I stand corrected on the stats. But my point (which I think I didn’t make clear enough) still stands: I want fewer cars because they’re rolling death machines mostly operated by people who are unaware how much harm they can cause. And motorcycles… are the same thing. In fact, your stats reinforce my point. More motorcycles equals more death.
@clever_sardonic_name @donnachaidh It seems you’re forgetting the most important point: motorcycles kill as many people as cars, if not more. So we wouldn’t be really be better off with motorcycles instead of cars.
@Danatronic @malloc I bike on bike lanes in my city pretty much everyday and each day I encounter joggers/runners, and you know what? It’s perfectly fine. It takes me 20 seconds tops to overtake them. It’s no problem at all. Everyone should have the right to safe public space.
@grue We agree on everything, I don’t know why you keep arguing.
@PowerCrazy I don’t drive. So I agree with you. But I also want drivers to realize that speeding is deadly. It’s not an act without consequences.
@grue Yes, yes, yes. I agree with all of this. But I also think people should realize that speeding is bad and that lowering car speeds is good, so all these changes can be implemented. I’m tired of people getting angry because they got a fine for speeding because they were, you know, speeding and putting people in danger.
@grue I 100% agree with you. Still, people shouldn’t speed. And they should know that if they speed they’re more likely to kill someone.
@Goblin_Mode But why do they like their cars? It’s not spontaneous. It’s because the automotive industry lobbied to destroy any other transportation option, so they need to have a car to survive. Obviously you’ll like the thing that helps you survive. It’s not that they like their cars, so they built their life around it. It’s that their lives are built around them, so they don’t have any other option but to like cars.
@Goblin_Mode @Diplomjodler Is it a cultural difference, or has the US lacking infrastructure forced you to make a different choice?

@BorgDrone @pbrisgreat Unfortunately no. In the United States the pedestrian or cyclist can be at fault (I, thankfully, don’t live in the US but I lived there for a while and I noticed the laws are skewed towards cars).
@rm_dash_r_star @bumble you’re so close to getting the point, it’s a bit painful.
@RandAlThor Tough game. Fun to watch, although I didn’t like the result.
