And I think on some cars I’ve had in the past, it was only 2 times even.

Oh no. Anyway…
The answer it’s, they’re neither thing right now. And the claim has been made that in order to run your own instance that forwarded all traffic generated by the primary instance, you would need equivalent hardware to what BlueSky currently has. Vs Mastdon, which is…
Good point, yes. I really should have started with that…
Yup. It still boggles my mind that none of that was enough to make Republicans think twice about voting for him.
Now that he’s impacting them financially? Oh noes! I might not vote Republican again! 🙀
But of course, it’s way too late now and we’ll be lucky if we even have another election at this point.
None of this is false is the thing. He’s literally a criminal. He literally gave out a massive stock tip before reversing direction on tariffs again…
Yeah this seems like a weird use case for Mastodon to me too. Also, the entire point of Mastodon is that no one entity can control it all. Switching to BlueSky is basically just falling straight back into the trap where someone can buy it out and repurpose it as a disinformation machine again. I’m not saying ActivityPub is perfect, mind you. Just that it sucks less (for me) than the alternative.
I mean… they shouldn’t be supporting Xitter anyway. And encouraging people to use IG and FB is just as bad basically.
Ideally they should run their own Mastodon instance and provide announcements and support there.
Well that’s just great. Now how do we walk back all the cases he weighed in on when he should have actually recused himself?
Foundation has been interesting so far and very pretty. For All Mankind is amazing.
The US can be a pretty boggling place to try and bike or walk, yes.
He’s talking about some pretty cool bike infrastructure that they’re at least introducing in ABQ that is pretty sweet compared to when I grew up there in the 80s though. I remember biking down Lead or Lomas in the mornings with no bike lane at all and rush hour traffic trying to get around me non-stop, lol. I remember I felt slightly safer on Lomas even though it was 50mph+ traffic just because the lanes were really wide.
Cool! I didn’t think of that, but it would do the trick, you’re right.
(I was hoping for it to be in the popup list of search engines, I guess.)
You mean DDG is better for programming or Brave Search is? I’m finding a lot more useful stuff via Brave for whatever reason currently.
(I guess results may vary though if that’s not the case for you!)
I mean… I’ve been using Firefox since Google silo’d all log-ins together.
On the other hand, search.brave.com is freaking incredible. It’s so much better than Google, Bing or DDG at this point, it’s shocking. I switched a couple weeks ago and it’s surreal to see so many usable, useful results on the first page again.
Well, when the award nominee lists come out, I jump on those if they sound like books I’d like. And of course, new books by past authors I like. And generally books that I start seeing a lot of people reviewing favorably or just getting a lot of buzz I will at least evaluate.
This brings up an interesting point. On Mastodon, besides Block User, there is also a Block Instance option. Will we ever see that on Lemmy? Seems like an easy way to resolve what has been a big issue for me (and obviously other people too).
Aka, you don’t really want to start over on another instance (hey, not migration tools yet!) but you also don’t really want to see posts from a specific server any more. Rather than people having to lobby the server admins about whether or not to defederate, wouldn’t it just be easier to allow user-level instance blocking? (I know I say “just” while knowing zip about how hard that as in the back end, but yes, from a logistics perspective, seems like you could make a lot of spam-level requests leave the admin’s plates by implementing this.)
And yet what I really, really want is the ability to block instances… any idea if/when that is coming? I know it’s a thing on Mastodon so it should be one here too, hopefully.
TLDR version is that Amendment 14 Section 3 says if you were involved in an attempt to overthrow the government you no longer are allowed to hold public office.
Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Economic, environmental and health. It’s always going to be a ton cheaper not to own a car that needs gas, maintenance and insurance, plus you generate less pollution in a myriad of ways, and by biking or walking places you obviously increase your personal fitness and health levels.
It exists because too many idiots turn it on, forget about it and then drive along for another 5 miles signalling a turn they’re never going to make and confusing everyone around them. Personally, I’d much rather someone signal for “too short” an amount of time than have this happen.
