Wife and I had a similar experience. We kept thinking “oh, here’s the part where we’re going to talk about all the science and physics!” but then went off on another track. I liked it overall though and have generally been a Nolan fan.

Not necessarily. I’m on a daily medication that has a generic but is available in both extended release and immediate release forms. The extended release provides a more consistent dosage and has historically prevented me from getting sick. The immediate release causes inconsistent spikes and I have a history of getting sick on it. Insurance refused to pay for the extended release type for about 2 years before it made it onto their “formulary.” In the meantime I was using GoodRx and paying $100/mo instead of my paid health insurance pharmacy plan to make sure I wouldn’t get sick. The person I spoke to at the pharmacy management wing of the insurance company literally told me “you can get an app on your phone which will tell you when to take the immediate release medication.”
Yes, but they’ll have to add you to the group chat using your Apple ID instead of your primary phone number unless you use one of the “workarounds” to get your number attached to iMessage.

The workarounds listed are for Airmessage but they apply to Beeper as well in terms of getting your phone number attached. I’ve been using method #1 successfully for about a month now.
No need for an always on Mac with Beeper. I was previously using Airmessage and then Bluebubbles in this manner on an old Mac Mini. Have been on Beeper for a couple of months now. They use their own Macs as servers.
In the future there are going to be certain features behind a “Beeper Plus” paywall. https://blog.beeper.com/p/beeper-is-now-free
Yeah, Paxlovid didn’t exist the last time I had COVID. The mouth taste off of it is indeed weird, but the fact that I already stopped feeling the brain fog is a huge plus. I was feeling the brain fog for a good month or so after my last infection.
Yep, got it again this week and presently in isolation. On the upside, we know how to treat it way better than when I had it last time.
Ditto. I used Zenni for a few pairs but the frame quality is noticeably better on my Warby pairs. That said, I have a very high prescription, and Zenni did a better job on a lightweight high-index pair of prescription sunglasses than Warby did. The highest index sunglass option from Warby Parker still came out fairly hefty.
Oddly enough in this wave of people having issues mine has actually been working better than ever. Pixel 7 Pro / Honda Civic / AA Wireless. It’s been a month since I had a connection drop.
The Saga of Seven Suns by Kevin J. Anderson. It’s a huge favorite across our family.
They’re coming as part of the new Find My Device network. The launch has been delayed until Apple releases their portion of the joint anti-tracking effort.
Between those two, the 7. The 6a has the same horrendous modem as the 6/6Pro. It’s the only phone series I’ve ever felt the need to upgrade from at the 1 year mark. Multiple family members and I had so many situations where the thing just would abruptly drop all data service until it was rebooted or toggled airplane mode. Would not recommend any of the 6 series unless you’re primarily on WiFi.
