In an interesting and challenging field, yes, you need to be really good at it because everyone wants to do it. But if you are willing to work on anything, like an ASP.NET Web Forms site built in 2005, that the business is entirely dependent upon to function in even the most basic capacity, with more technical debt than anyone would ever care to deal with, and no time allowed to refactor, you can make quite a nice living.

  • No, it’ll be: “Why aren’t the democrat frauds being arrested too!?!?!?!?”. Everyone: “There’s no evidence”. Them: “It’s a conspiracy!” Everyone: “The few that have been found to have committed fraud, even by accident, have gone to prison. There’s no conspiracy.” Them: “They’re just part of the cover up, they’re probably plants.”

It’s exhausting just to list their predictable retorts, especially when you know it’ll never convince them and they’ll just start looping through the bullshit until “Everyone” just gives up. That’s how they win.
