I’m not a fan of this change
The turn signal stalk is muscle memory from every car ever, and can be operated without taking the hands of the wheel, even while turning the wheel.
And in general I don’t want vehicle controls on the touchscreen. Yes you only use the “gear” selector while stationary, but it’s such a core vehicle control it should have a dedicated physical input
In addition to everything else said here, what has crystallized over the last year is how good it feels that Linux and other open source initiatives are Enshitification-proof
This I believe is a big part of what give the warm and fuzzy feeling when using open source software and website. Generally everyone involved wants to make something good, without looking towards IPOs or the next quarterly revenue at the cost of the software
(Sure controversies happen, but they are generally few and far between, and open source licensing ensure forking is a viable last resort, like with LibreOffice and Nextcloud)
Skrooge is pretty good
Xchat with its sleek tab interface was the bomb
Yes! I can not recommend draw.io aka diagrams.net enough! (I still don’t understand why it has two names and which name is the current “correct” one)
It works both in the browser, or as a downloadable standalone application that works 100% offline.
My favourite feature is exporting PNG or PDF with the complete diagram XML embedded as metadata, which means they can be opened and edited again by draw.io
It’s very useful not only for networking, but all sorts of diagramming needs
Thanks for sharing, I have 3 hm90s I’m about to set up ( just waiting for RAM and SSDs ), these crashes sound super frustrating.
I was planning to run them detuned anyway to reduce the strain and temperature on the Power Supply, since its a non-standard USB-C which looks hard or impossible to replace if it breaks some years from now
The AI arms race has begun!
Isn’t this kinda thing happening already in the recruitment industry?
To quote the great philosopher Homer Simpson: “Money can be used to buy goods and services”
So depends what kind of simple you want. Money does solve many problems.
It’s not so much about the programming language you use, it’s about what data you’re taking in, what you’re doing with it, and where you’re passing the data off to next.
If everything is all the same encoding, or all your data is ANSI you never have to think about it. It’s only when your program runs across systems or regions things get screwed up
OnlyOffice is also available as a (offline) desktop office suite, so as a user it’s more like LibreOffice than Collabora.
My wife prefers OnlyOffice over LibreOffice, as it’s feels closer to MS Office. Also it’s compatibility with MS Office formats is better than LibreOffice.
I still use LibreOffice for desktop, but I’m not a heavy user. Haven’t tried out Collabora or hosted OnlyOffice for NextCloud yet.
