Don’t forget the good ol’ classics:
Indeed, old equations still apply I presume?
Sponsored by US govt = bad.
Forced by Soviet Russian govt = good.
Not just that. People should switch from lemmy to one of the alternatives (mbin, piefed) entirely. Dessalines is still main lemmy dev after all and that’s not going to change…
Tough Love, saga continues.
Run fast is fine, until it’s run away fast…
Lemm.ee indeed. So far it’s been quite decent alternative to lemmy. I used voyager on mobile, switched to Interstellar, which is not as polished yet honestly, but it’s still very much usable. For web interface I find the defaults much, MUCH better on piefed than on lemmy. I disliked lemmys default to be so bad I’d rather used something else like Alexandrite or Photon.
To be honest, since Lemm.ee anouncement my main goal was to ditch lemmy (thanks to dessalines) and stay with fediverse. The other consideration was mbin (like fedia.io), but after some reading it seems it’s very limited by manpower and probably won’t see much development in near future.
Piefed (like piefed.social) should look just like another lemmy instance. Not sure how proper linking works /c/[email protected] or [email protected] or https://piefed.social/c/piefed_meta
You can even export your followed communities in lemmy and import them into piefed.
Well, from my very limited experience point of view it is exactly 1:1 replacement of Lemmy.
It might not support 100% lemmy features, but generally it functions the same.
No surprise. Dessalines is the reason I switched from lemmy to piefed once my instance anounced it’s going to shut down…
I never knew Freddie was a hacker…
The other half is legacy parts unchanged since Windows XP.
How am I not surprised? Shorts is video equivalent of cancer.
But he dis his best, you know? He tried as hard as every true american should do and he made it! You know?! He made it happen! And that’s beautiful.
I know of timeshift. The nice part about openSUSE snapper is it’s all automatic and simply uses btrfs cow.
That’s why I always recommend openSUSE. It automatically makes snapshots when updating so you always have working point to go back to.
You don’t want to know how that mail abomination is set up here… Archiving? Blasphemy!
