You’re free to disagree with me on the comments I just made, that’s what’s great about discussions online, but hexbear members are very confrontational, to a trollish degree, in how they discuss these topics from what I’ve seen. It doesn’t need to be “every member” of hexbear as you say. It just has to be a big enough problem that the mods and users want it gone. That is happening fairly often recently based on the posts showing up when I browse lemmy. Hell, that’s how I ended up here.

It’s not a single user. The instance is a safe haven for tankies. This thread is 90% them supporting the CCP. Quite a bit of it is pretty trolly, too. I’m sure you’ll find a large number of their users support Russia over Ukraine.

Nah I gotta disagree on this one. I specifically joined this instance as a welcoming space. I’m glad we’re defederated from the tankie and far right instances. I want none of that here. You can feel differently for the “main” instances or whatever you want to call them, but for me, defederation is amazing.

I’m an android user and have been from the start.

However, I have tiny ears, so I can’t really use those in-ear earbuds that are common now. I did some research and frequently at the top of the lists for open earbuds that are Bluetooth are the…you might need to sit down for this…airpods. Yes, I know, crazy.

So here I am with airpods and a pixel 7. And they work great for $100 which isn’t a crazy price compared to earbuds from companies like Google or Sony. Yes, most Apple stuff is overpriced, but they make good hardware, and I wish fanboys would stop making everything so black and white.
