First, knowing that you have a mind that may take shortcuts that others aren’t used to taking is helpful. Whenever you explain something to someone else, it is useful to explicit the reason you take these shortcuts.

For instance, if while talking about subject A, your mind makes a link to subject B and them to C, you have to talk about B before talking about C, even if to you B is evident and there’s no point in talking about it.

People don’t need to understand my way of life. It’s my life, I do what I want. I can explain to them why I chose to do the things I do, but ultimately I’m going to do it whether they understand or not – unless they convince me that it’s a bad way to live.
