He asked for help on the internet and instead of “playing a better game” he tried to continue playing the game he was enjoying, with the help of the gaming community.

He could have teleported to another player’s location if invited to that player’s party, but instead he took another player’s advice and started cannibalizing his own in-game gear for fuel.

I bet the feeling was very satisfying not only for him but for the community that was trying to help him.

Heck, even I was happy and I’ve never played that game!
