How about a meeting an hour after our daily standup and it’s the CTO and CIO saying “ok is everyone on the call?”
I was telling myself “oh crap, the company is gonna shut down”
5 minutes later “So as of this very moment, everyone stop working. The company is officially closed as of this meeting.”
We were a start up essentially. Made it almost 9 years with ups and downs. This all happened at the end of July. At least got 3 month severance and insurance covered. I do start a new job Tuesday.

I use windows 11 pro, and I don’t see any of these ads anywhere ever. Is that something the home versions only do? Did I turn off some setting proactively at setup that prevents the ads?

Except for the original deskjet they had back in the early 90s, I haven’t touched HP, on purpose anyways, since then. I hate their printers, their computers, and their software. Nothing about their stuff works properly and has been garbage for me.
Yes, I have a b&w brother laser/scanner than is 6 to 7 years old and it goes on without any issues (except networking BS at times, but that is likely my problem)
I considered sync, but Liftoff does everything I need it to do for now, and it’s nice enough to use. So, imma stay with Liftoff

1·2 years agoI feel the employment hit. My company unceremoniously shut down, all of a sudden, last Tuesday, after almost 9 years there. Supposedly, we get severance and I have leads on new employment already.
