Great post. I played the Speccy version a lot back in the day. Although I was never anything other than very bad at it.
SNAKE. SNAKE? SNAAAAAAKE!
Right. You’ve got me interested. I will crack on!
The ever reducing diameter of wraps is the thing that gets me the most. Do they think we won’t notice?! It’s maddening. I want a big wrap.
I also checked out during Capaldi, and yesterday I went back to pick it up where I left it - The Zygon Invasion. Honestly, I’m not really sure what to make of it, and I understand why I stopped by watching. All that stuff with him playing the guitar, that really doesn’t work for me. And there is something else, the pacing, the direction, the writing, the acting… I’m not sure what. The regulars are okay, but some of the supporting cast, not so much. Maybe this just wasn’t a good episode and it will pick up.
Is this the bathroom from Bob’s Burgers?
Okay. This is acceptable! I was concerned that your neighbour had gone out of their way to criticise your bin orientation, which I’d have classed as, a bit odd.
I’ve never been into a Primark, but this looks very much like TK Maxx (which is what TJ Maxx is called here in the UK).
My son is 11, and this is a daily… or even hourly occurrence.
I’m with you.
But, I’m keen to know how this discussion with your neighbour came about!
RDR is not (officially) available on PC / Steam / Steamdeck. So you’ll need to either emulate switch or 360 via Xenia. IIRC MVG had a video about RDR running under Xenia on the deck about a year ago, and it was mostly 30fps ish.
Realistically though, if you want portable play Switch. If you want to play on a TV PS4. The best way to play this right now, in the absence of PC port, is an Xbox Series X via back compat, which doesn’t really help you!
It’s for the kidneys
I make a podcast! It’s not that great or original. I basically talk nonsense and play music. It’s called Edinburgh Man (named after a song by The Fall).
Also
Mission to Zyxx An improvised star trek like serial. Despite my description it’s very VERY good. Finished now but there are a ton of episodes to binge. Listen from the start.
Sonic the Comic the Podcast Two guys go issue by issue through the UK Sonic the Comic from the 90s. I was too old to read this at the time, but the show is really enjoyable.
Annika Stranded On BBC Sounds. The original series on which the TV show Annika is based. Short 15 minute spoken word. You wouldn’t think it works, and it takes a few shows to find its feet, but it’s worth it.
Retronauts, Get Played Two of my favourite video games pods.
If you’re not paying you are the product. If you ARE paying you are STILL the product. This is how big tech works.
Absolutely. When I used to use YouTube I had a browser extension that directed the home page to my subscriptions.
Being cheap and lazy, I just unscrewed the double spout from mine and made it a single spout. Gives me more clearance than with the spouts.
I’ve not had time to play anything this week, but my 11 year old has been playing this clone Pokemon game on Xbox called Nexomon Extinction. I’d actually tried to play it a while ago but bounced off it because of the difficulty, but 11 year olds have more time to put into these things. So he batters away at the first boss. But this game has like an anti-grinding design so you can’t just level up your party to make them OP. So he does some research, learns some specific moves, and finally beats it. Keep in mind this is the first boss. And he gets an achievement for beating it. An achievement that 57% of players have got. 57. THE FIRST BOSS. You think the developers would have looked at their analytics and thought “hmmm, maybe this needs a bit of balancing”. But no. Let’s keep is so that more than 40% of users who bought this game have seen only a tiny fraction of it.
You’re not the only one. I thought the Specials plus Church on Ruby Road were all great. Devils Chord has been the nearest so far, but still with issues. Boom…? A bit meh. Lots of Moffat tropes, and having Millie Gibson lie on the floor unconscious for 15 minutes felt typical of Moffat writing for female characters. Could have done with 5 or 10 minutes of trimming, and it wasn’t even that long. I thought I was just being cynical (I probably am).
