Yeah definitely. That’s what I was saying about spreading my net wider here. I try communities of topics that I’m not necessarily interested in, but could be. Being a bit more open minded giving new things a chance.

I get what you mean. But I just spread my net wider. Give more communities a chance, and unsubscribe from the ones that aren’t what I’m looking for. It’s frustrating, but it will improve. And it’s better than dealing with reddit.

I worked in rail for a bit, and almost got hit once. Saw many many near misses. People think “how could you not notice a train roaring towards you?!”. But these things can happen with alarming ease.

Well, that doesn’t work for sexual consent, and I guess it would be similar regarding this issue. Informed consent requires the person to be of such an age that their consent is valid. I’m no expert, that was just my initial thought.

What do you have in mind?

Holy crap! This came up in an “All” search, so I didn’t realise it was The Onion. About the third sentence in I thought to check what community it was. Sadly there probably has been a company who’s tried to set up this kind of business.

It’s still very good for everything else, for sure.

Might be the app, then. So frustrating. It’s been such a good app up until now.

I’m sure this is my own fault, but I seem to be accidentally hiding some posts. How do I unhide them?

I joined Mastodon when Musk took over Twitter. That didn’t really work out. So I stuck to Reddit. Then spez started up with the API nonsense, and I kept seeing stuff about Lemmy. Checked it out, and here I am.

Haha I had a similar experience with an Asian lady several years ago. I was lost and asked her for directions into town. She had the prettiest face, and a dainty little physique. She answered me in a sweet manner… then turned around to her family… and screeched in a loud, twangy, pitchy yelling voice. It completely changed how attractive I found her, but I thought a similar thing about earplugs.

Yes, that’s the one. I prefer their cover of Careless Whisper, personally. That song also has a very strong her-to-me vibe.

Actually, one of my exes really liked a song called Fuck Me Like You Hate Me. She was also quite hatable. It added some spice in the bedroom, but a high price was paid. I’m not really interested in revisiting that…
