
Although I agree with the idea of deradicalization, peace, and neutrality as a goal, I also have a problem with peace at all cost.
It’s all good to be neutral until your rights are radically denied. Then, categorical and radical positions are justified.
But then some rights can be gained in the legitimate political process. That’s what politics is for, and it works to a degree. When it does, it takes effort, discussion, and compromise, and that’s where centrism is helpful. I am not saying this is always feasible, but I do think this path is underused. In part because it’s hard to remain motivated to work this slow process.
