  • The training for the models still requires massive data centers, ai has caused data center power usage to double in the last five years, and wasting power on stealing art is still wasting power even if you reduce it down to just running a local model on your gaming pc, which is a tiny fraction of users.

The personal impact is the artist that does not want their art used this way. In this case the artist has made it incredibly clear that ai is a cancer on society and an affront to human life. I think that would affect a normal person that has any shame or empathy.

  • Global chat bans is the chat hate. Minecraft was (and still primarily is) a single player game with private server capability. Banning people from using a feature they paid for in a setting entirely unrelated to the company is a problem.

Its especially a problem if you own your own server, as you can be banned from doing any in-game admin work, including banning people via chat commands. again on a server you own and run that is disconnected from microsoft and mojang entirely.

Its a paradigm shift that has never had an equal in gaming. In no other games with private servers are features restricted on private servers. No one should have the capability to do that.

  • Most right wing voters, right now, practice community level communism, or at least a communal sharing economy.

But you gotta understand that for more than a hundred years now a huge amount of tax payer and corporate money has funded the single largest propaganda campaign in world history, associating the words socialism and communism with every single bad thing that could be described using literary, visual, or audio mediums.

Add this to a society that was already made up of some of the most religious and socially conservative (read shame oriented) people in almost world history, and you have a permanent brainwashing switch that gets flipped on mere mention of specific words.

  • It’s just the natural progression of forbidden language.

I’m not sure of the filters but a really easy one is:

Dim is considered too rude, so use the medical term closest to it, ‘retard’, retard becomes to rude so you use disabled. Disabled becomes too rude so you use differently abled, and so on. Forever.

Or; commit suicide -> go kill yourself -> go jump off a bridge -> go commit die -> be self unalived

All censored words and ideas go through this, which is why you should improve the material conditions of people so they can have enough time to empathize with others and avoid saying particularly bad words and ideas.

When you apply it to really common words and ideas, it evolves even faster and dumber.

  • There was a shitty f2p MMO called GunZ online once upon a time. It was so badly programmed that glitches literally became the primary gameplay loop.

I loved it. For those few that could get into it, it was a unique heaven of fps and fighting game that filled a void an over caffeinated teen with nothing but hyper focus and time didn’t know they had.

    Also just ridiculously horny people.

Texas is a country. Now imagine $40 billion a year of various media and disinfo agents repeating that ad nauseum in every place they can literally all the time for nearly 50 years now, all so China can’t take revenge against Japan.

You’d get annoyed and probably ban it since that’s the easiest way to get your enemy to waste money forever.

Taipei is an autonomous region, like Xinjiang or Tibet. As long as they don’t grossly violate federal law they get to stay autonomous.

  • The Israeli public, at least 60-68% of it consistently supports genocide, even as they are direct witnesses and for the most part due to mandatory IDF enlistment, participate in it.

Most people in Russia hate their government and military, beyond some basic notion that they should be the toughest because they’re Russian. Most people in China, especially the military, have nothing to do with any alleged genocide.

But the Israeli public is different. That is why they get less respect.

The Nazis were popular in Germany for a time, the Israeli government is no different at the moment. Both populations should not be respected even a little, given they have largely chosen and supported attrocities.

  • He grew up on the internet during the wild West period, with that being his point of reference for social acceptability. He didn’t evolve with the rest of the internet as more diverse groups and more ‘moral’ groups changed what was acceptable.

His three major incidents were saying the n word, wearing an SS uniform when doing a response video to an article writer that called him a Nazi, and getting some fiverr people to write a sign that said ‘kill all jews’ by taking advantage of the fact they apparently didn’t speak English. He’s apologized for all but the middle multiple times and essentially left most of the internet after having his kid.

But since we’re in the era of the internet we’re in, nothing is ever forgotten or forgiven no matter what, and with the rise of actual Nazis across the world anyone that ever made edgy jokes or used inappropriate language has generally been swept up in it.

That all being said he’s not exactly a great person, despite his massive charity work, he’s just another entertainer, like all the rest. No better or worse than your average random person that got money and wealth way too young.

  • The problem is they’ve been promising that for two decades.

They’re great at saying things, sometimes, to specific outlet while saying the opposite to their donors and other outlets. But they’re terrible at doing anything. At all. After decades of lies, after decades of trying to push them left… The Harris campaign paid partial lip service and promised what Obama did in 2008.

Also no, Dems are the same as Republicans because their goals, based on their actions and voting records, are exactly the same. Make rich people more rich, bust unions, keep the poor poor.
