Sure, but he was the very first person to ever fly in space so that definitely counts for something. Additionally, he could control the spacecraft if there was an emergency.

I had read that Francis appointed 80% of the Cardinals who pick the new Pope. So it’s possible that the new Pope will have similar views to Francis.
For anyone like me whose bullshit detector calibration is off from the past 10 years of crazy, this is indeed a real tweet from the official White House Twitter account.
I haven’t been able to find any since mid July. Literally every pharmacy is out. Even the independents. Fucking ridiculous. At least I have an old stash Adderall to keep me semi functional.
Cool.
The average income in India is 25x ish less than that of the US. If we scale the $75 million cost to land on the moon by 25 times, we get $1.8 billion. The Perseverance rover’s cost is estimated at $2.75 billion and that thing landed on Mars.
It’s incredibly impressive that India has landed on the moon on their 2nd try. Nothing should take away from that, and India should be very proud of their achievement. But geez this is a braindead article. Yes, poorer countries can pay people less do the same amount of work as someone in another country.
“40 left 2 over turd don’t cut”
I’ll get downvoted to hell for this, but the CEO is at least partially right. It is really hard to get to know people and build trust remotely.
I started my first post-college job in August of 2020. Most people were remote, but I was not due to the nature of my work. It is extremely hard to get to know people exclusively over email, phone calls, and video calls. It’s frustrating not being able to get to know people even at the surface level. Knowing a little bit about your coworkers allows you to build rapport with them. Video and voice calls can be unreliable, and people can be very difficult to understand without in person cues and the ability to read lips. I say all of this as a very introverted person with social anxiety.
Talk to your doctor about all of this. They should have more information and should be able to help you.
Wikipedia lists many of your side effects. Urinary retention is a rare side effect, and erectile dysfunction as a common side effect. Sleepiness, weird dreams, insomnia, and fatigue are also listed.
With that out of the way, I’ve never taken anything other than the stimulant medications, so take my experience with a grain of salt.
I know that if I don’t get enough sleep, and then I take my meds, I’ll get really sleepy. I’m still able to focus, but the quality of my work is worse. It’s possible you need more sleep. 6 hours isn’t enough for most people, including me. Now if I could just take my own advice…
If I was in your shoes, I would definitely try a different medication. What’s the point in being able to focus if you feel too slow to do anything with that focus? My only side effects of my stimulant medications are some irritability after they wear off, dry mouth, increased heart rate, and occasional insomnia that’s easily fixed with melatonin. They help me focus, and they don’t have any impact, positive or negative, on my cognitive abilities.
The recall covers certain Sentra compact cars from the 2020 through 2022 model years.
Tie rods breaking. Yikes.
Dude, I’ll bash Enron Muskrat for free.
Cargo? Sure. Passengers? I’m not betting on it. I sure wouldn’t want to the guy farthest from the center of the aircraft. Every banking turn would become a roller coaster ride. Plus airport infrastructure would have to change. And tubes are easy to build.
One would think, but no.
According to Wikipedia specifically about music
recordings published before 1923 expired on January 1, 2022; recordings published between 1923 and 1946 will be protected for 100 years after release; recordings published between 1947 and 1956 will be protected for 110 years; and all recordings published after 1956 that were fixed prior to February 15, 1972, will have their protection terminate on February 15, 2067.
You joke, but the more I’ve used regular expressions at work, the more I’m infuritated when something doesn’t support regex. Looking at you Excel!
I’m in the weird in between gen z and millennial. I only use cursive to sign my name and read grandma’s Christmas card. Frankly, it’s not useful for me. I’m glad we spent the time in school taking typing classes instead of cursive.
What is crazy to me is that my youngest cousins (in their early teens) use the hunt and peck method to type. Despite that, they’re not super slow. I was absolutely shocked when I found that out. I think it was all the years of using a phone or tablet instead of an actual keyboard that created a habit.
College is so expensive because the government does NOT offer lots of funding to public universities.
And the help the government provides in the form of loans is subpar. When I was going through college a few years ago, the interest rate on the loans that were offered to me by the government was higher than my parents credit card interest rates.
Our taxes should be used to pay for the education of future generations. Demanding the next generation improve society while making it as hard as possible for them is completely idiotic at best.
There are already laptops with docking stations that take 2 USB-C connectors. Annoyingly, the docking stations come with a Franken-connector of 2 USB-C plugs in one solid plastic housing so you can only use the dock with a specific laptop.
It looks like you can still buy Römertopf stuff online, so I suspect they’re still in business. At the end of the day they’re ceramic, they will be broken so there will always be some demand for them.
But your point stands. There is a serious danger for a company to make a product that lasts forever so that they’ll never get repeat business.
I think a company could theoretically get around this problem by growing slowly (or not at all). That way, they can keep making some money to keep the tooling and the knowledge around go keep manufacturing going at a low level. They can produce replacement parts and replacement products and still keep the business afloat. Nothing is indestructible. There’s still a bustling cast iron skillet market, after all.
Of course, the problem with that is infinite growth is what fat cats want, not slow sustainable growth.
But what do I know? I’m a moron on the internet.
Thank you.
Newsweek makes USA Today look like the Atlantic. Apparently they don’t use fact checkers!
This happened to me at work. I was talking to the chief engineer, and he handed me one of the products he was working on.
Thinking it probably was worth $100,000 I asked how much it was worth. He said “Oh about a million dollars”
Then why’d you hand it to me?!
It’s cool but holy moly!
