Looking at his substack, he talks about AI being able to solve the mystery of UAPs. Sooo may be more the guy then the industry.
More traditional boardgames like dominion aren’t rougelites. Also the Pokémon trading card games or Yugioh.
Depending on how flexible with the definition you are, the megaman battle network games are also deck builders (there is “One step from eden” which is a rougelite version too).
Pretty much anything handling unstructed data (audio, video, text) is using training data that has copyrighted content.
Star trek touches on it a bit. Some people definitely still cook in the shows, but it’s almost seen as a thing for special occasions.
I also think they left a lot unexplored with the whole concept. Like cut back on the relationship and politics stuff and focus on what it means to be Mickey/clone.

Yeah, the more data you have around the database the better, but that’s always been the issue with data governance - you need to stay on top of that or things start to degrade quickly.
When the governance is good, the LLM may be able to keep up, but will you know when things start to slip?
I’ve done some work on natural language to SQL, both with older (like Bert) and current LLMs. It can do alright if there is a good schema and reasonable column names, but otherwise it can break down pretty quickly.
Thats before you get into the fact that SQL dialects are a really big issue for LLMs to begin with. They all looks so similar I’ve found it common for them to switch between them without warning.

If you install windows it can, but natively it can’t as those games don’t support Linux. However, you loose a lot of the value of the steamdeck (SteamOS) by installing windows.
Also windows sucks on a handheld. I dual booted for a while, but it’s just not really worth it.

I also argue the world building alone makes them worth it. While the dialogue and plot had some issues, all the new worlds/aliens/the actual sith/etc. heralded in a new age for star wars.
The world in the sequel trilogy is so small in comparison to either of the other trilogys.

Many times you don’t need old data and can ship it off to S3 or something similar. Additionally, you may have tables/data that are disconnected and could be broken off into two databases. Both of these tend to just push off the inevitable, but could buy time for a larger architectural change.
I mean Fallen Order and Survivor are good games. I also liked star wars outlaws, maybe a bit too Ubisoft, but does really put you in the world.

Yeah I missed that when posting. Personally I disagree with you regarding tcgs counting, as many tcg video games end up playing as deck builders (since you develop your deck throughout the game). Especially since that’s effectively what happens with games like midnight suns.
One game though I did think of that is sorta a deck builder and not a rougelite (and not a tcg) would be Stacklands
